This adolescent female pit bull is a friendly, social girl who already knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning. She would thrive in an experienced, adult-only home with a securely fenced yard where she can get consistent structure and exercise. Ongoing positive reinforcement training will help her continue to build confidence and good manners, and adopters should be committed to either group or private training as a required part of her adoption. With guidance, patience, and love, she has the potential to be a wonderful companion.Size: Medium 23.5kg/ 52lbsChildren: Adult only home pleaseDogs: May do best with dogs of similar size and playstyleCats: No cats or small animals please

*Aquila is on a sleepover! Wish her luck!***Aquila is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee and the possibility of a sleepover!**Aquila is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Age: 6 yearsWeight: 31.1 kgA bit about Aquila:- limited history with children; all interactions should be supervised- unknown history with cats; introductions should be slow and supervised- has lived with dogs before; dogs okay pending successful introduction (will do best with calm dogs that can respect space)Meet Aquila! She says it`s good to see ya! This sweet middle aged pittie lady is seeking a family that enjoys the same things as her - relaxed walks, snuggles on the couch, snoozing in the sun, and food! As you might be able to tell from her picture, Miss Aquila is a bit of a foodie who unfortunately needs to lose some weight. Not only does she enjoy her kibble, but she`s also happy to try fruits and veggies as a snack. Aquila is very shy with new people, but she has lived with children before and will probably do well in any home that can give her some space until she trusts you and wants to go in for all the cuddles. Aquila foster family described her as intelligent (she`ll do anything for kibble), perfectly house trained, and very sweet. She does have arthritis, and can be uncomfortable with her paws being touched because of that, but she is otherwise a healthy middle aged lady ready to find her people!

Is it you? This goofy girl is seeking a home that loves making snow angels as much as she does, and doesn`t mind a touch of rambunctious pittie energy! After a busy day of playing in the snow, Cece would love to cuddle up with a bestie on the couch and get some scritches while you watch a show together.Cece`s history before Calgary Humane is unknown, but she has shown us that she is wary of fast movements near her head, as well as strangers who don`t give her a chance to get comfortable. That`s why she`s looking for a calm, quiet, and loving family of adults or older teens only that can go slow with her, help her build her confidence, and give her a space to feel safe!Soon you`ll see her energetic and affectionate personality shine through! She loves to learn, will work for food, and even gets prance-y paws as she follows you around! While she hasn`t had the best start to life, that`s where you come in to help ensure that the rest of Cece`s years are positive, fun, and full of love and playtime! If you have a soft spot for shy dogs in need of some TLC, then Cece just may be the dog for you!

Age: 1 yearA little bit about Hank:-Kids: Unknown history with children. All interactions should be carefully supervised by an adult.-Cats/Small Animals: Unknown history with cats or small animals. All introductions should be done slowly over multiple sessions and carefully supervised.-Dogs: Unknown history with dogs. Potential for home with select other dog pending successful dog-to-dog interaction.Say hello to Hank, a sensitive, intelligent boy who forms strong bonds once he feels safe and understood. He may be a bit cautious with new people and can be yappy at first, but tasty treats go a long way in helping him build trust. When Hank welcomes you into his inner circle, he shows his affection by seeking attention and happily carrying his favorite toy. He even knows the cue “get your toy,” which helps him feel more comfortable in new or uncertain situations.Hank has a generally calm demeanor, with occasional moments of playful silliness when he gets excited. Gentle, calm touch helps him settle, and he thrives in an environment that respects his sensitivities. He can be particular about handling, especially around his collar, harness, rear end, feet, and during medical care, so he’ll do best with patient adopters who move at his pace and respects his needs and sensitivities!Hank would love a home that is willing to continue working with him thoughtfully and compassionately. With consistency, understanding, and love, Hank has the potential to be a deeply loyal and rewarding companion. Come meet him today!
