Story
Chopper is a sweet and affectionate dog who is looking for his forever home. He came into our care when his previous owners were no longer able to take care of him. Once Chopper bonds with his people, he loves to be around them most of the time. He spends most of his day in our offices and is a great work from home and office dog. Chopper loves going out on walks and would be a great light jogging buddy if he is given short breaks in-between. He was not accustomed to receiving treats but is slowly learning to accept them and be the spoiled dog that he deserves to be!Chopper has seasonal allergies that require some medical care to keep him comfortable via ongoing medications. He has food sensitivities, so he will need to be on a limited ingredient diet. Additionally, he is working through some skin issues and will require regular medicated baths to soothe his dry skin.Chopper would likely do best in a home without other dogs and would need a home with no other small animals. He is looking for a loving home where he can be the center of attention and receive the care he needs. If you're ready to give Chopper the loving home he deserves, come meet this special guy!Do you think you could be Chopper's person? Here are some ways to find out: 1.) Visit our centre to meet this pet during adoption viewings Friday to Wednesday noon to 3pm, learn more about their ideal match, and apply to adopt in person; or2.) Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit! Kindly note that due to the high number of applications and the availability of walk-in adoptions an online applicant would have to be available to come in for a meet within 24 hrs. Story
Hola! My name is GABO and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Boxer Mix Age: About 8 years Gender: Male Weight: 50 lbs (23 kg) Height: 71 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 82 cm (head to butt) Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - When I was just a puppy (about 8 months old) my "owners" abandoned me on a high-traffic main road; a place where dogs are often dropped by people wanting to get rid of us for good. I was so skinny and scared! Luckily, I was rescued by some wonderful hoomans, who took me to the shelter. I have been a good boy living in the shelter for the last SEVEN YEARS! I really hope that I can find my furever home soon! TEMPERAMENT - I am a happy, playful and well-behaved boy. I am very sweet and friendly with humans and dogs alike and I LOVE to go for walkies! I love to eat pretty well anything - but my favourite foods are sausages, tortillas, bread and carrots! I am so excited to snuggle and play with my new family! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I am a sweet and well-behaved boy who loves attention, playing and walkies! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. Dogs – Yes - I get along well with other dogs in my shelter and that I meet on walks. Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I have been working on my leash skills, but I don't pull! I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Gabo Meets other Dogs House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted, particularly dogs who have lived for long periods at the shelter. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including taxes (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live. Story
Daisy, an adorable Bullmastiff mix, is the smallest of her litter, weighing just 23kg, while her big brother is double her size!! Daisy grew up in an environment with limited human interaction, resulting in her being more comfortable with dogs and somewhat aloof towards them. She would likely benefit from a confident canine friend in the home. This under-socialization with people has led to some "stranger danger," making her best suited for an experienced dog owner who practices positive reinforcement training and is willing to work with an Animal Kind trainer.Once Daisy overcomes her initial fears, her sweet personality truly blossoms. She loves neck and ear scratches, enjoys cuddling in your lap, and giving gentle kisses. Her most endearing feature is her little snaggle-tooth, which always brings a smile to our faces. Daisy has a fondness for stuffies and loves chasing balls, and playing exuberantly with her big brother. With a slow introduction, she would likely do well with new dog friends. Daisy enjoys her walks and prances like a little deer, taking in all the new sights.Daisy has shown some stress and anxiety in the shelter, but it is believed that these issues will significantly diminish with a consistent routine in a stable home. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle her, so she is looking for an adult-only home.Prospective adopters must submit and have their applications approved before meeting Daisy, as her nervousness around new people requires controlled introductions. Walk-in meet and greets without an approved application will not be accommodated. If you have the experience and patience to help Daisy overcome her challenges, you will be rewarded with all the love she has to offer once she feels safe and secure.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-cowichan/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 23.5 Age: 2yrs 9mths 2wks

Story
Maralyn, spelled different than the classic beauty but absolutely bringing her own classic appeal. When I met this girl I refrained for a full 3 minutes before I was down on the ground with my arms around her neck. She is squishy and huggable and it shows! The walking pillows, where you can just see the snuggle potential a mile away. Don’t trust my workds, take a look for yourself! [Watch me in action!](https://youtu.be/GzP5gSgZOn8) Maralyn is fortunate and is waiting for her forever family in a loving foster home. They gush over how smart and easy-going she is while expressing that she has a comforting presence. In her foster home she lives with two pugs who she gets along well with, even when they try to crawl and jump on her like a jungle gym. My favorite thing her foster mom shared was their morning routine of starting the day together. One enjoying a spot in the sun the other enjoying a cup of coffee. A quiet moment of companionship and love. On top of being a peaceful companion, Maralyn has learned the art of welcoming guests politely and reading the room for the “dog-people.” Overall she is quiet, never barking frivolously, but definitely for effective communication. Given that Maralyn is house trained and she hasn’t yet mastered opening the door herself, she has to speak up when she needs a little help getting outside. Personally, I love a dog that knows how to ask to be let out, or in, when needed. She also likes to tell you a little about her day when you get home, but again, its never excessive. Its her call for connection. Maralyn is also a gentle gal, from kids to cats she knows how to “make herself small” and sprinkle in little kisses and carefully share her toys. One of her favorite games to play with kids is fetch! She is a smart, loyal girl, with A+ listening skills and a love for belly rubs. The tail-wags will tell you all you need to know about her love for affection and you! If you have any questions about the adoption process or would like us to test Maralyn for a specific location or situation, please email us! We are happy to help ensure Maralyn is the perfect fit for you and your family! Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
**This dog is currently being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption via rescue transport. We provide zoom call to meet your dog prior to adoption as well as no added fees for transport** Bio: Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children, though we suggest age 10+, not because she isn't a good girl but because her sheer size could pose an issue for smaller kids. Sometimes she gets the zoomies when excited and small children may be overlooked when she's zooming around. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. While a bit rough for play with smaller dogs, large pups and her do fantastic. Kyra matches the energy of the pups she is with, so if they want calm, she will be calm. If they want crazy, she will start her zooming! At times, she can be quite vocal when playing with others, but all of it is playful banter. We think Kyra would absolutely love to have another large canine brother or sister to enjoy life with, but would also do well as an only pup too! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is to have continued impulse control taught, as she struggles when she's over excited to stay in place. Though, which dog doesn't! She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is Housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed if you'll allow. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.
