Story
Hi there. I'm CHANI and here is some info about me:Breed: Boxer/Shepard mixAge: 4 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 40 lbsCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: loving, active, playful, snuggly, loyal More than anything in the world, I love spending time with people. Snugglesssssss.Like many dogs in Roswell, I was found as a stray with my puppies and picked up by the animal shelter. My puppies were all adopted and I ended up on the euthanasia list when my time ran out. Thankfully, I was pulled out by a rescue group just in time.I am a lovable girl with a bit of sass and a splash of energy! Loyal and loving are my middle names. This girl is all about toys, water play, and having fun—but I also have a mellow side when it's time to chill. My rescuers say I am amazing with kids (though there is no current video of this) and could fit into an active or a more relaxed home.Snuggling with my foster mom on the bed is an especially loved time for me, as long as I don't have to share her attention with my foster siblings. I do get along with other easy going dogs, but would be delighted to be your one and only. Probably a top alpha is not a good match, as I am a dominant female, but can be neutral with submissive dogs.I have a strong prey drive and should not be with small dogs or cats. I do have food resource guarding and therefore need to be fed separately, if there are other dogs in the home. It would be great if you could get a trainer to help alleviate this issue. It probably stems from trying to survive on the street and care for my babies. It would be terrific if you like to be adventurous and do activities like hiking, paddle boarding or other sports. But if not, a back yard to play in would be nice too. So long as we can get out for a bit of exercise on a regular basis, it's all good. I'm sure we could have loads of fun together. Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yes, but selective to passive dogs.Cats: noKids: unknown (rescuer states yes, but no video proof.) Prey drive: highFears: none observed. Please be patient with me during my transition.Training:Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I have been spay/neutered and vaccinated. I will soon be microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to near the US/Canadian border. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2621351##

Story
**Currently fostered in Houston Texas but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transportation. Virtual meet and greet offered prior to adoption commitment** Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is just over 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. She doesn't mind the cats, She does chase them at times when she just wants to play. Kyra is not an aggressive dog, but she can lack the meaning of personal space and some of the cats we've introduced her to have not taken kindly to that. We think she could do well in just about any home, however, she would prefer to have regular play mates that can keep up with her be it siblings or play mates from friends, neighbors or daycare environment. She just wants to enjoy life with someone! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is working on her impulse control. She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed or couch. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.
