Story
**This dog is currently being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption via rescue transport. We provide zoom call to meet your dog prior to adoption as well as no added fees for transport** Bio: Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children, though we suggest age 10+, not because she isn't a good girl but because her sheer size could pose an issue for smaller kids. Sometimes she gets the zoomies when excited and small children may be overlooked when she's zooming around. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. While a bit rough for play with smaller dogs, large pups and her do fantastic. Kyra matches the energy of the pups she is with, so if they want calm, she will be calm. If they want crazy, she will start her zooming! At times, she can be quite vocal when playing with others, but all of it is playful banter. We think Kyra would absolutely love to have another large canine brother or sister to enjoy life with, but would also do well as an only pup too! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is to have continued impulse control taught, as she struggles when she's over excited to stay in place. Though, which dog doesn't! She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is Housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed if you'll allow. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.

Story
Hi friends! My name is CHARLIE and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: American Bully Mix Age: approx. 4 Years Gender: Male Weight: 66 lbs (30 kg)  Height (from paws to the top of my head): 60 cm Length (nose to bum): 87 cm Neck circumference: 52 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - My story is one that is all too common here in Mexico. I was living on the streets with my "owners", although I likely would have been better off alone because these people were addicted to drugs and were very abusive to me. Despite being the goodest boy, I was beaten. I thought I had caught a lucky break when I was rescued, however my "rescuer" kept me in a confined space and continued to abuse me. Fortunately, a second rescue saved me for good! I was moved to a doggy pension here in Mexico where I was given the freedom to play and socialize with people and dogs... all without fear of abuse. I lived at the pension for 6 months now before bbeing moved to a foster home in Mexico City, where I now have two foster siblings. Our foster parents take us to the dog park every day where we loveee to play fetch and socialize (video)! I am SO ready to find a furever home where I will receive all the love and understanding I so deserve. TEMPERAMENT - I am a super friendly boy who LOVES human attention. Seriously, I would be happy to have pets and affection all day long! Once I understand a command, I am very obedient and loyal to the core. Even when I was rescued, despite the abuse I had endured, I was friendly to my rescuers. I had bouts of nervousness and could get defensive if anyone approached me with an object in their hand, no doubt as a result of my past abuse. Since I was rescued a second time, I have truly flourished. I share space with other doggies at the pension and in my foster home and have become much more playful. I have gained confidence now that I know I am safe. Truly, feeling safe has completely changed my attitude. Check out my videos - I am a playful, giant teddy bear. Guilty pleasure: I love chewing on empty water bottles (video) and I loveeee playing fetch with a Kong (video, video 2, video 3), hehe! Full disclosure, I am a big boy who doesn't know my own strength/size sometimes. I need to work on my awareness of my weight/strength, so having an adopter who is familiar with my power breeds would be really beneficial. I hope to find an adopter who understands that I need structure in my life. I need a confident owner who will help me continue to flourish.   I have met and interacted with children without incident, however it would be preferred for me to go to a home with kids 12+ (just because I'm a big boy who could knock over a youngin' by accident).  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I play hard but I crash hard too. Once I've had sufficient daily exercise, I am a pretty chill guy who is eager for affection and love. An adopter with breed experience would be ideal for me so that they can help me exercise in an environment where I'll be set up for success (structured walks, appropriate doggy play time, obedience training etc.). GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Okay 12+. I'd probably do best in a home without young children as I can be a bit "bouncy" and would hate to knock over a li'l human.  Dogs – Yup! I'm a good playmate for dogs who are similar in size to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with smaller dogs too, however I'm a big boy who doesn't know how big I am... so I'd prefer to socialize with doggies who match my strength. Check out my video- I'm a good playmate with my foster sibs! Good news, I also don't resource guard my food or toys! (video 1, video 2, video 3) Cats – Unknown. I haven't been cat tested. Hoomans - I LOVE affection. There are so many videos of me seeking out affection and enjoying endless pets. Check some of them out here, here, and here!  PREY DRIVE - I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress! My foster says I am pretty good on leash, considering I have had very little practice! I am a strong boy, though, who needs to be walked by someone with confidence. Check out my videos here and here. Just like any adoptee, I will need a patient adopter who is happy to work on my leash training and who can continue to teach me how to walk nice. A well-fitted harness and lots of positive reinforcement will help me learn quickly :)   House trained – Work in progress! Please be patient with me and help me continue to learn in my forever home. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn :) I'm one smart cookie so I'm sure I'll learn real quick! Guess what... I'm also SUCH a good boy when I'm getting a bath! Check out my video here, followed by my post-bath zoomies video here, hehe! Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. Story
Meet adoptable Diego! ~ GENDER: Male ~ AGE: 3 years ~ WEIGHT: 57 lbs ~ BREED: Pit Bull mix ~ TEMPERAMENT: Diego has a long list of awesome qualities ... friendly, intelligent, affectionate, loyal, and playful to name a few. Diego is so eager to become a best friend to someone willing to give him a chance. He is super smart, very trainable, and very personable. He’s still young so he still has quite a bit of energy. He loves going for long walks, hikes, or any type of outdoor adventures. Waves are highly interesting and exciting, so water is not a problem! He likes to play and be goofy, but will also be happy just laying around being lazy and hanging out. He does great on a leash and never pulls. If you stop to talk to someone, he will just sit next to you and chill while you chat. His grateful, loving gaze will surely melt your heart. He is a wonderful, loyal friend who just needs that special person to share his life with. ~ ENERGY: Medium-high. ~ DOG FRIENDLY: Ok with female dogs. Selective (not always friendly) with male dogs. He has a dominant type of personality around other pooches. ~ CAT FRIENDLY: No. ~ KID FRIENDLY: Yes. ~ GOOD ON LEASH: Yes. ~ GOOD IN CAR: Yes. ~ HOUSE TRAINED: Yes. ~ BARKING: Minimal. ~ SHEDDING: Minimal. ~ ANY AGGRESSION: No, Diego loves humans of all ages! ~ MEDICAL: Neutered, de-wormed, has all vaccines including rabies. He’s a healthy boy. ~ RESCUE HISTORY: Diego was abandoned in the streets of Ajijic, Mexico. He hung around outside a local shop because the owners often fed him. But some customers were afraid of Diego, even though he is not an aggressive dog. The shop owners feared they would lose customers so they tried very hard to find a home for Diego. He moved in with a foster family in Ajijic temporarily but unfortunately they could not keep him long term. His fosters rented a space at a horse stable for Diego to stay for the time being, until a new foster or permanent home can be found. Diego is well cared for, exercised daily, and safe from the dangers of the streets. But he is still longing for a home & family of his own. ~ A MESSAGE FROM DIEGO'S CARETAKERS: Diego is a very special dog. He is so eager to belong somewhere and to be someone's best pal. He loves to keep you company, even if it's just hanging out doing nothing. He is loyal and bonds quickly & strongly with his people. Diego has a silly goofy side too - he loves to play, chase squirrels, and wrestle with cardboard boxes. He enjoys his walks very much and he's fantastic on the leash. Not to mention he is super handsome and gets tons of compliments when out for walks. Because he tends to be dominant with other dogs, he would do best as an only dog. If you decide to adopt this boy, I guarantee you'll fall in love with him and he will be the very best companion. Story
Helloooooo Canadaaaaa! My name is Kyros and here is some info about me: Breed: American Pitbull TerrierAge: 7 years 7 monthsGender: maleWeight: 28 kgs/ 61lbsHeight: tbd Witnesses saw me being dumped from a car on a busy highway. Terribly shameful thing for someone to do. Thank goodness my rescuer saved me. After my rescue, my old owner was identified and my rescuer discovered that I’ve lived most of my life (5 years) tied outside a garage through winter and summer. Horrible again. I got adopted shortly after (6 months) and unfortunately my owner passed away due to a sudden heart attack. So sad. We were great together and he was helping me learn. After that, I have been placed in a paid boarding facility, where I am extremely depressed and barely eating. I am an extremely loyal and protective dog. I often get depressed and stop eating if I am not with a human for a long period of time. I warm up to people very quickly and love to bond with humans. I stay close to my human and give them a lot of sloppy kisses and love. I can be trained easily once I trust the person, you just need to find my motivation (usually vocal and physical praise.) I was initially reactive towards all dogs, but with training and some socialization from my previous owner, I was able to approach female dogs in a playful way without reacting. See my video. Though still not friendly with male dogs at all (have a bite history with a male dog). I will never be the dog who can be left off-leash in a park, but with proper training and leadership, I can be a very good dog and companion! Through the work my owner had done, I can walk past barking male dogs (with a secure fence separating us) without flinching (before I was adopted, I used to lunge and pull right away), but if one of them crosses a line and annoys me, I will still lunge and snap at them. If my training is resumed, I'm sure I can improve further. I showed definite improvement with someone taking the time to work with me. The best home would be one without young children or other pets. I will do well with 1.5 hours of walking per day and around 30 minutes of running or tug play. It would be ideal to be in a home with a fenced space for off-leash play, since I cannot be left with other dogs. It would be grand if I could go to a Pitbull knowledgeable home. ENERGY LEVEL: Moderate I GET ALONG WITH:Dogs, ok with females (on leash only) and not friendly at all with males.Cats, unknown, but not likelyKids, unknown. I greet kids (7-10 yrs) during walks, but have never lived with one. I seem friendly and kind with them during walks. PREY DRIVE: High FEARS:none that my rescue mom knows of! I do get jumpy if someone does a lot of sudden movements around me due to my abusive history. TRAINING: someLeash skills – I am leash reactive, so wil need continued work on this. My previous owner was teaching me how to walk nicely on the leash, but I still pull a lot!House trained – I was in a home before, but need a refresher!Other tricks – sit and stay HEALTH NOTES:I am a healthy boy. I am fully vaccinated and neutered. I am also microchipped! My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. I would likely fly through Montreal, see extra costs below. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1304455##

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW. THIS IS NOT A LOVED AT LAST DOG.   Please contact Stephanie at pachostephanie@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Hi everyone, I am the energetic Elvis and here's some info about me: Age: 6Breed: Pitbull/ German ShepherdWeight: 90 lbsHeight: 24 inchesMale (intact) Although I  am 6 years old, I am still just a big puppy with a big heart. I love my people and am super-loyal and affectionate. My rescuer says that I have come so far in a short time, a fast learner and very smart when it comes to tricks. As a puppy, I was rescued from a local shelter, and my rescuer took care of me all these years. Unfortunately my rescuer recently passed and the family is no longer able to care for me or my sister, Anna. I would love to find a new home where Anna can join me, but if that doesn't work out, it's still ok. There is nothing I love more than to play fetch and tug-o-war. Did I mention I have heaps of energy? A home with a big yard where I can play all day, would be amazing! I also love walks, but require someone with some experience who can help me practice my leash walking. I like kids and other dogs, however I need to be introduced slowly to strangers, just to check them out. My family comes first and I need to protect them after all. A family with older kids, who has some experience and patience with rescues sounds like my perfect match! I live in Nanaimo BC and the family is willing to travel for meet and greets. An adoption fee of $100 applies. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW.
