Story
Hi, I'm Lucy! If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh every day, I might just be your girl. Im a happy, energetic Boxer who loves toys, playtime, and being around my people. One of my favorite things to do is back up and give you my butt when I want pets, it always seems to get a laugh! My story didn't start out so happy. I was found wandering alone at a park in Mecca. I was extremely thin, had recently had puppies, and it was clear I had been through a lot. The people who found me believe I was likely used for breeding and then abandoned when I was no longer needed. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan took me in and kept me safe until Desert Paws Sanctuary had room for me. During that time, I lived with a French Bulldog and did great. I can socialize with smaller dogs, though I do best with proper introductions and a little time to get comfortable. Today, my difficult past is behind me. I've gained weight, discovered how much fun toys can be, and learned that people can be kind. I have so much love, personality, and joy to share with the right family. I deserve a home where I'll never be abandoned again, a home where I can play, be loved, and happily wiggle my way over for pets whenever I want attention. Could that home be yours? Story
Hi, Im Sandy! Im a 34 year old Boxer/Lab mix, and my life started out rough. I was pregnant and living in the agricultural fields of Thermal with my puppies. Things were hard for us, some of my babies didnt survive, and those that did were tiny and weak. Luckily, a kind woman reached out for help, and Natalie from the rescue came to get us. I was malnourished, had an ear infection, and my puppies were only three and four pounds. We were all very sick, but we were also friendly and ready to trust someone. Thanks to my amazing foster mom, Genny, and her family, I got the love, care, and stability I needed. I was treated for infections and parasites, my puppies were nursed back to health, and now we are all thriving. Im a sweet, gentle soul who loves people and attention. I enjoy being petted, going on adventures, and I do well with other dogs with slow introductions. I also love kids and would make a wonderful family dog. Now, its my turn. Im ready for a forever home where I will finally belong, with a family to love me for the rest of my life. Could that be you? Story
Hi, Im Mia! Im a sweet 1-year-old puppy who was found with my mom and six siblings wandering the desert. My mom is a Shepherd and Lab mix, and a kind soul noticed her having multiple litters and called animal control. They only took us puppies, but sadly, they left my mom behind. She ended up having more puppies after being seen with a male dog. The same Good Samaritan kept an eye out and found us seven puppies. Unfortunately, our dad was hit by a car, but were all safe now, and Im just so excited to find my forever home! Im playful, loving, and ready to shower you with all my puppy love! Story
Hi, Im Dice, a 3-year-old deaf pup who truly beat the odds. I was rescued in Mexico with another dog, and no one really knows how I survived on the streets without being able to hear. But I did, because Im strong, smart, and a fighter. Now, Im looking for something Ive never had before: a patient, experienced, and understanding forever home. A little about me: Im 3 years old I am deaf but very smart I am good with kids I do well with other dogs with slow, structured introductions I can be reactive with unfamiliar people I need someone experienced with dogs who can guide me and help me feel safe Im not the right match for a first-time dog owner. I need someone who understands behavior, boundaries, and patience. But once I trust you, I love deeply, stay loyal, and form a strong bond. I just want a home where Im safe, understood, and loved for exactly who I am.
