Story
Brutus, a protective and loyal companion, never stood a chance in the traditional shelter environment. Surrounded by unfamiliar faces and uncertain about his future, he was overwhelmed and scared. Unfortunately, the traditional shelter system was not equipped to address his specific needs, leaving him set up for failure. Recognizing this, we made the compassionate decision to take him in and give him a chance at a better life. We owe a heartfelt thank you to Amy, the person who stepped up for Brutus and fought for his life. Amy's unwavering dedication and pleas on his behalf have not gone unnoticed. It is through her efforts that we have hope that someone out there will also step up for Brutus and provide him with the love and care he deserves. Despite his challenging past, Brutus has been neutered, microchipped, and is ready to find his forever home. He has shown positive interactions with both neutered male and female dogs during his time with us. While he did display some food aggression towards a smaller male, it is an area that can be worked on with proper training and guidance. One thing is for certain, Brutus adores people and will make an incredible companion for someone looking for an only dog. Additionally, he has proven to be well-behaved when it comes to potty training and has never made any messes in his enclosed, heated trailer. At 60 lbs, he is a quiet sleeper and can comfortably sleep in a crate. Although he may still need some work on jumping, his teeth are clean, and he is estimated to be around 2 years old. While he tends to prefer the company of female dogs, introductions should be done slowly and carefully to ensure a smooth transition. Despite our best efforts, we are still searching for a kind hearted person to take in this deserving pup, as he was retrieved from a Colorado to prevent him from being euthanized. ##1960027##

Story
Tay came in like a wrecking ball. This little lady will waggle her entire body to the sound of your encouragement like the happiest dog in the world. While she is the most adorable and sweet girl, she has clearly experienced the absolute wrong kind of pupbringing. To the tune of zero manners, forget the leash walking, she's over, under to the side, upside down everywhere lol. She doesn't fully trust people but she tries really hard. Little lady was like a snappy gator when we got her because she had no idea where to direct her energy. She could be found bounding on top of her furry companions (they didn't appreciate that), crawling beneath them, full tilt running into them and side rolling. We kid you not. Fast forward a couple few weeks.... Tay has been an amazing student. She is learning so quickly with our behavior team here and holy smokes has she been turning it around. This girl is much better on leash, understanding boundaries with people and other dogs. Her mouthiness has subsided and she isn't so worried about the food situation anymore! Tay has also shown to be pretty good off leash with a decent recall, she will need more work through positive reinforcement with that. Her buddy, Flameo has had a HUGE role in her socialization and learning curve here. Tay plays hard, she possesses the typical herd of elephants rough and ready pibble play personality and will need a dog who can keep up with that if you have other pets in your home! Tay is a toy hoarder, often loses them..and then finds them... What a personality on this girl! Did we mention she is also doing VERY well with children? We definitely do not recommend kids under 8 years old for her but she does absolutely adore them. ##1960416##
