Story
Meet Jackson Jackson is stunning, matched only by his incredibly sweet and affectionate personality. If you are looking for your soul dog, your best friend, your ultimate companion, let Jackson be it. He is amazing. Like so many great dogs, Jackson found himself on the euth list at a high kill shelter. With a huge advocacy team trying to get him to safety, Jackson was brought to our attention. After seeing his interactions and his friendly ways, we rescued him knowing that he would bring years of endless love to a forever family. Jackson is three years old. Our best guest is that he’s a boxer, French bulldog mix, but it’s hard to really know. His ears live in another zip code lol, and he has the most soulful eyes that just pierce your heart. Jackson is 55 lbs. of pure love. Jackson is friendly, out-going, athletic, smart, confident, easy-going, well-mannered and loving. He loves treats and takes them from your hand as gentle as a lamb. Jackson loves being with people. He would be good with kids (who are taught to interact with a dog properly.) He gets so excited when he’s taken out of his kennel, but he quickly settles down to a happy stroll. Jackson likes other dogs and does well with them. A kennel environment is so stressful for dogs, but when he walks by the other dogs barking at him, he shows no reaction. He would probably do well with another active dog in the home, but not necessary, just a good option. He loves car rides. We’ll test for cats. Jackson would love to be your hiking companion, your neighborhood walk guy, your lunch buddy and your curl up and watch tv boy. He is simply amazing. He’s been through a lot and the demeanor he presents and his love for simply being alive are incredible. We’re doing everything we can to keep his spirits up. He’s receiving a lot of attention, lots of yard time, treats and love, but we hope his forever family or person finds him soon. Jackson is a dog of a lifetime and deserves to be in a loving home. If interested in Jackson, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Heidi! She's a sweet, loving 5 year old Boxer looking for her perfect forever home! She was rescued from our local animal shelter so we don't know much about her history but we have learned that she would prefer to be an only dog with no small children (13+) in the home. She has her boundaries that she likes and needs a family who will understand them. She attaches to her people and when she does her Boxer wigglebutt goes crazy with excitement. She is house trained, crate trained, and fully vetted. She walks great on a leash and loves car rides so would make a great walking or hiking buddy! ##2288108##

Meet Peaches, the sweetest and most loving pup you'll ever meet! Peaches is a playful ball of joy who loves nothing more than running around, chasing after toys, and enjoying every moment of outdoor adventure. But when it’s time to unwind, she’s just as happy curling up on the couch for a well-deserved nap. Whether she’s zooming around with her tail wagging or snuggling up for a cozy cuddle, Peaches brings warmth and happiness wherever she goes. Her heart is as big as her paws, and she’s always ready to share her love with everyone she meets! Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles.
