Story
applications at leiashope.org located in Decatur, IL **Robin – 1 Year Old Boxer** Robin is a beautiful 1-year-old Boxer weighing about 50 pounds. She is good with other dogs, kids, and cats, and she has the sweet, goofy, playful personality Boxers are known for. Boxers are typically loyal, affectionate, playful, energetic, and people-loving dogs. They are also strong, athletic, and full of enthusiasm, so Robin will do best with a family that can keep up with her energy and safely handle her strength. Robin is a former puppy mill dog. When she first came into rescue, she was shy and a little fearful, but after a few weeks in foster care, she is already doing much better. Like many dogs coming from a mill background, Robin may regress some when she moves to a new home. She will need a patient, kind family who understands that trust takes time and that she is still learning how to be a loved family pet instead of a profit maker. Robin is learning how to be a normal pet by watching her foster doggy friend. Because of this, she will require a canine companion in her adoptive home to help her continue gaining confidence and learning the routines of family life. Robin is also strong and can be a flight risk, so she will require a secure physical fenced yard and an adopter who can safely manage her strength, especially during transitions, leashing for appointments, and new situations. Potential Boxer health concerns can include heart disease, certain cancers, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, and skin or allergy issues. Not every Boxer will experience these problems, but adopters should be familiar with the breed and committed to regular veterinary care. Robin’s adoption fee is $400. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Robin is located in Decatur, Illinois. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a volunteer-run rescue, and all of our dogs are in foster homes. We require an approved application before meet and greets. Applications can take 8–10 business days to process. All family members, including resident dogs, must be present for the meet and greet. Adoptions are held at the dog’s location. We do not provide transport. To apply, please visit **leiashope.org**.

Story
Draco is a very lovable and easily trainable puppy, I honestly have no idea on breed or age. We found him dumped on a back road in September, my best guesses are that he is around a year old and a boxer mix. We are unable to keep him due to the town ordinance of where we just moved to, we are only allowed to have 5 pets. He is fixed and house broken as well, mostly kennel trained and listens very well. He is a very good dog, just has some puppy in him still where he likes to chew on things with stuffing in it. He is fed everyday and not malnourished, just runs around a lot with a lot of energy. Gets along with all dogs, and extremely loving

All Pet Central Helps animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
