Story
Clyde is a 70 pound sweetheart. He`s a little shy at first but if you just give him a chance he will warm up to you and show you his true personality. He loves to play with toys. He listens to instructions very well, but needs an assertive instructor. He can be energetic and plays too rough to be placed with children under 12 years of age. He tends to be more gentle with women when it comes to toy behavior. He loves tennis balls and playing fetch! He is not a fan of cats, but previously lived with a female dog and may do okay with female dogs. Clyde needs a lot of space to run and is waiting to find his forever family!

Story
applications at leiashope.org located in Decatur, IL **Robin – 1 Year Old Boxer** Robin is a beautiful 1-year-old Boxer weighing about 50 pounds. She is good with other dogs, kids, and cats, and she has the sweet, goofy, playful personality Boxers are known for. Boxers are typically loyal, affectionate, playful, energetic, and people-loving dogs. They are also strong, athletic, and full of enthusiasm, so Robin will do best with a family that can keep up with her energy and safely handle her strength. Robin is a former puppy mill dog. When she first came into rescue, she was shy and a little fearful, but after a few weeks in foster care, she is already doing much better. Like many dogs coming from a mill background, Robin may regress some when she moves to a new home. She will need a patient, kind family who understands that trust takes time and that she is still learning how to be a loved family pet instead of a profit maker. Robin is learning how to be a normal pet by watching her foster doggy friend. Because of this, she will require a canine companion in her adoptive home to help her continue gaining confidence and learning the routines of family life. Robin is also strong and can be a flight risk, so she will require a secure physical fenced yard and an adopter who can safely manage her strength, especially during transitions, leashing for appointments, and new situations. Potential Boxer health concerns can include heart disease, certain cancers, hip dysplasia, degenerative myelopathy, and skin or allergy issues. Not every Boxer will experience these problems, but adopters should be familiar with the breed and committed to regular veterinary care. Robin’s adoption fee is $400. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Robin is located in Decatur, Illinois. Leia’s Hope Canine Rescue is a volunteer-run rescue, and all of our dogs are in foster homes. We require an approved application before meet and greets. Applications can take 8–10 business days to process. All family members, including resident dogs, must be present for the meet and greet. Adoptions are held at the dog’s location. We do not provide transport. To apply, please visit **leiashope.org**.
