Meet This handsome boy Oliver! We Believe Oliver, a sweet and shy 9-month-old intact male Boxer mix who came to us as a stray. Because of that, we don't know much about his past, but we're excited to help him find the loving home he deserves. Oliver can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his playful and affectionate personality begins to shine. He's already shown us that he knows the commands sit and shake and one of his favorite things in the world is playing fetch with a tennis ball! Oliver is also highly food-motivated, so a tasty treat is the quickest way to earn his trust and become his new best friend. He doesn't seem to mind the other dogs here at the shelter and is currently learning his leash manners, making great progress every day. He did great for his nail trim and exam where he weighs in at 52 lbs and was given Bordatella, parvo/lepto/distemper vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Our adoptions are $100 cash/ local check. Visiting hours are Monday–Friday 8:00am–11:45am and 1:00pm–4:00pm. We are located at 5066 County Home Rd., Greenville, OH 45331. It breaks my heart to do this, but I'm looking for a loving new home for my dog because I'll be entering the Air Force and won't be able to give him the life he deserves. He's been my best friend for the past five years, and this is not a decision I've made lightly. He previously lived with other dogs, but about three years ago he got into a fight over food and has been food-aggressive with other dogs since then. Because of this, he should be fed separately. Outside of mealtimes, he does well around other dogs. He's also great with cats and kids. He may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly loyal, loving, and will be your best friend. I'm looking for someone who will give him the safe, patient, and loving home he deserves. If you think you might be the right fit or have any questions, please reach out. My only goal is to find him the best home possible.
