Story
My name is Cassius! I spent my entire life with one family until they were no longer able to care for me. Coming to the shelter was pretty confusing and overwhelming after having a home for so long, but I did my very best to stay brave. The best news? I’m currently living in a wonderful foster home, and I am doing super well! Being back in a house has reminded me of who I truly am: a calm, gentle soul who just wants a soft place to land. I'm already a pro at house manners, and my absolute favorite thing to do is find a comfy bed to curl up in and wait for snuggles. While I might be a little reserved when we first meet, just give me a tiny bit of time to bond with you. Once I know I’m safe, my inner puppy totally shines! I get so silly, excited, and playful—it’s like a joyful little secret I only share with my favorite people. I’m so ready for a steady routine and a forever family to open their hearts to me. Could that be you?

Story
Baxter is a 1-year-old Boxer mix we adopted from Greene County Animal Shelter about two months ago. He’s a sweet, affectionate dog who has become very attached to our family — especially our 10-year-old daughter. He’s truly a “Velcro dog” who loves being close to his people. Unfortunately, we’ve realized our home is not the right environment for him. We have a very high-traffic household with constant visitors, neighborhood kids, and pool activity. Baxter is fearful around strangers and becomes reactive when new people enter the home. He will bark and growl until he has time to acclimate, and he may lunge if kids scream, run toward him, or move unpredictably. While he has never shown aggression toward our family, the chaos and unpredictability of our household are simply too stressful for him.Baxter would do best in a quiet, lower-traffic home with patient adults or older children who understand nervous dogs. He needs slow introductions to guests & does best when in his own safe space.

Story
Piper is an 8 year old pit/ boxer mix (we were told). She was adopted from a rescue as a puppy. She is spayed and microchipped. She is also crate trained. She is very calm but will bark at the mailman. She enjoys our fenced in back yard but will run off given the opportunity. She adores belly rubs and sun bathing and snuggling up to snooze.

Story
Meet Winny — your future shadow, snuggle supervisor, and part-time silly girl. 💁‍♀️🐾Winny is a 35-pound bundle of love who firmly believes personal space is a myth. Her hobbies include making sure you never feel alone and making best friends out of kids, dogs, and probably your mail carrier if given the chance. If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I had a tiny, affectionate sidekick who follows me everywhere,” congratulations—Winny has already filled out that role. This smart little overachiever comes pre-loaded with “sit,” “come,” “leave it,” and “place.” She also responds fluently to “nap,” which she takes very seriously… especially if it means you’re also going to bed. She sleeps nicely in her crate, though she would like to formally file a complaint about being away from you while awake. (She recovers quickly, but she will be a little dramatic about it at first.)Winny LOVES walks, car rides, squeaky toys, and having a dog buddy to share her excitement with. Honestly, if joy were a sport, she’d be competing professionally. She’s potty trained like a pro. Want more good news? Winny comes fully equipped for success. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and her adoption includes THREE training sessions (yes, three!) plus THREE days of doggy daycare at the Dayton Dog Den—because even social butterflies need a social calendar. At about a year and a half old, this Greyhound/Boxer mix has the perfect blend of playful energy and cuddle expertise. She’s ready to bring laughter, love, and just a tiny bit of chaos into your life.If your home is missing a loyal, goofy, affectionate best friend who will allert you to stangers on your property… Winny is your girl.Apply to adopt at: www.pawpatroldayton.com/adoptAdoption fee: $260Warning: adopting Winny may result in excessive smiling, constant companionship, and never going to the bathroom alone again. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

Story
Meet Shady! He is a handsome 1-year old mix with lots of love to give. Shady’s favorite pastime is giving big hugs to anyone who will take one. When he’s not loving on everyone he meets, he enjoys finding the nearest fluffy toy to snatch and run around with. Shady has ample energy and loves to be outside every chance he gets. He would love to run, hike, and explore the world with his human! Shady doesn’t know a stranger and excitedly welcomes love and affection. Shady is a smart guy who catches on quickly. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows all of his basic commands. He would benefit from some patience as he learns how to channel all his energy and excitement, but loves to learn! Shady is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his puppy shots. He is eager to please and food-motivated. Shady would make an awesome family dog, preferably with kiddos over 5 years old, as he gets pretty excited to see his humans and doesn’t quite know his size! If you are ready to open your heart and home to a guy who will love you unconditionally, Shady might just be your newest family member. Adoption app: https://halok9behavior.com/ Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. ##2732921##
