Cassidy is a gentle, soft-hearted girl who is still learning that the world is a safe place. With her beautiful melting shades of brown on her head, white chest and toes, and a sweet white-tipped tail, she has a quiet beauty that matches her tender personality. Right now, Cassidy is a bit reserved and shy, but her affectionate and friendly nature shines through in small, meaningful ways once she feels safe. She already knows “sit” and “down,” takes treats nicely, and enjoys gentle affection like ear and butt scratches. Cassidy gets along well with other dogs and keeps her kennel clean, showing that she has good manners and a thoughtful nature even while she’s still adjusting. Toys don’t seem to be her thing just yet, and she can be scared in new situations, so she will need time, patience, and a calm environment to truly blossom. Cassidy would do best in a home that can offer daily exercise, structure, and a steady routine while she builds confidence at her own pace. She is also a great candidate for a first-time owner who understands that shy dogs often need a little extra time and reassurance before their true personality shines through. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter; will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Enjoys attention and will come over and ask for love; this sweetie can't get enough booty scratches! - Really smart guy who loves treats and can catch them in his mouth; already knows sit, shake and more - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him, and he'd benefit from a more mature home that will enjoy his size and energy and allow him to settle in at his own pace - Sometimes isn't sure how to act around other dogs and can be socially awkward, but may do OK with a low-key dog friend (dog intro recommended) - We don't know his history with cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
