There is something about an older dog who has been through a lot that just stays with you. ????Storm is at least 10 years old, and over the course of her life, she has had multiple homes and even spent time in an animal shelter before. Yet somehow, after everything she has experienced, she remains such a sweet, gentle, quiet girl.That is Storm.She isn`t asking for much. She enjoys being near people, taking things slowly, and having a comfortable place to rest. There is a softness about her that makes you want to give her the kind of peaceful life she may have been missing for a very long time.We do want to be honest about Storm`s past because finding the right home for her is incredibly important. Storm has had two bite incidents involving children throughout her lifetime, so we feel an adult-only home without children is the right fit for her. She is also dog selective and will need a family who understands her boundaries and is willing to give her the patience and space she deserves.At this stage of her life, we are hoping to find Storm a hospice home—a quiet, loving place where nobody expects her to be anything other than the sweet old lady she is. A warm bed, gentle companionship, and someone who will cherish whatever time they are lucky enough to have with her.Storm has spent enough of her life wondering where she belongs. We would really love for her to know what it feels like to belong somewhere for good. ??Our dog adoption fee is $150 and includes their spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives. You can get a head start by filling out our adoption questionnaire at https://agcshelter.org/adopt-1, or you can stop in at 2205 E. Washington St. in Mt. Pleasant, IA Tuesday-Saturday from 1pm-4pm. No appointment required! Please check our Facebook page before visiting to make sure we do not have any unexpected closures.
