Story
Spotticus aka `Spot` is the biggest cuddle bug you`ll ever meet. This boxer mix may be 70 pounds but thinks he is a lap dog, don`t let his size fool you though because when he sees something he likes he`s pretty fast. He is the sweetest boy and is good on a leash, housebroken, and great with kids. He is good with most dogs but not cats. He loves attention and gives the sweetest kisses ever. He absolutely loves his ears scratched/rubbed and will often moan to let you know he`s enjoying it. Although he is crate trained, he does thoroughly enjoy lounging on the couch next to his people. Ice cubes and carrots are also some special treats that Spotticus enjoys as well as peanut butter of course. This goofball loves to roll in the mud and just outside in general so he`s pretty used to baths. So come on down to meet this little big guy today!

Story
I’m not a fan of cats, so I would prefer to live in a home without any. - TJ Dogs are usually tested with other dogs their size, and we encourage meet-and-greets with your dog before adoption. Cat tests are available if requested, but they only check for clear aggression. Always be careful when introducing dogs to cats. Advice about dogs living with children is based on behavior like energy level and how the dog handles touch. Young children should never be left alone with dogs, and we cannot guarantee how any dog will behave with kids or other pets. Behavior seen in the shelter is just a snapshot and may change in a home. Dogs come from many backgrounds and may need training, time, and patience. Dogs should not be fed together unless you know they do not guard food. We also suggest learning about a dog's breed or mix to be sure it fits your family. Moving to a new home can be stressful for dogs. Use the Rule of 3 to help them adjust: First 3 days: Dogs may feel scared, tired, overexcited, or not want to eat. First 3 weeks: Dogs start learning routines and may show new behaviors. Keep things calm and avoid busy places. First 3 months: Dogs usually feel settled and more comfortable. For more information, visit joplinhumane.org or contact the Joplin Humane Society in Joplin, Missouri at 417-623-3642.

Story
Hi folks! Beetlejuice here! No, don’t worry about saying my name three times; that’s another guy. I am a brown and white male Boxer/mixed breed dog who was left here at Golden Paws. I’m not sure how old I am, because my prior hooman left me out in the yard without telling anyone. I do love people very much and even though at 60 to 100 lbs when I’m full grown I’m a big boy, I imagine myself as a lap dog. But, if you don’t have an industrial strength lap, I’m just as happy laying beside your chair and getting pets and giving kisses. Although I love everyone once I get to know them, I’m very comfortable with women right from the start. I guess that’s because I’ve been around more women than men. So, what do you say? Fill out an application and come see me. Spend a little time with me so we can be Pals for the rest of our lives. I’m the dog you’ve always wanted. When you come here, just say my name three times (Got Ya). LOVE BEETLEJUICE
