With love, warmth, and plenty of food, his personality has blossomed. He adores other dogs, all people, his crate, and especially toys and sweaters. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and ready for his forever home. Could it be with you? Once adopted he will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you`ve ever wanted a 130-pound best friend to share your couch and watch Scooby-Doo with, Chubbs might be your guy! This handsome American Bulldog is a giant sweetheart who absolutely loves attention. Whether he`s soaking up pets, hanging out with his people, or relaxing in front of the TV, Chubbs is happiest when he`s spending time with those he loves. He`s a goofy, affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Chubbs has previously lived with a Chihuahua and did well, showing that he can get along with other dogs. Since he hasn`t been around larger dogs, any introductions with any dogs should be done thoughtfully and with good judgment. The same goes for cats; he`s still a young dog and would likely be more interested in playing and chasing than anything else.Potential adopters should understand that Chubbs is an incredibly strong dog. While he walks reasonably well on leash most of the time, when something catches his interest, especially another dog he wants to meet, he can become very determined and pull hard to get there. Chubbs requires an adopter who can physically control a 130-pound dog. This is not a detail that can be overlooked. His future family must be confident and capable of safely handling a dog of his size and strength. Chubbs has done well with children in the past, but because he`s such a big, enthusiastic boy, he may accidentally knock over smaller kids when he`s excited. As always, supervision and good judgment are important. Chubbs isn`t difficult, he`s just a lot of dog. Underneath all 130 pounds is a lovable goofball who wants friends, affection, and a family to call his own.
