Story
Rocky is a 2-and-a-half-year-old boxer mix who likes to ride in the car and is good on a leash. Rocky was released to us due to his owner's poor health. He knows basic commands and is housetrained and crate-trained. He will do best with female dogs. Kids should be at least 6 due to Rocky's size. We don't know how he'll behave with cats. Rocky has tested negative for heartworm, has been neutered, and is current on vaccinations. He currently weighs about 65 pounds. You will receive health records and a bag of Hill's Science Diet pet food upon adoption. Adoption donation $260. Please complete the pre-adoption questionnaire at: https://www.cchspets.com/adoption-pre-qualifier We will contact you via email. Please check your spam/junk folders!

Story
Meet Violet. Violet is a 2-year-old, 45-pound pit mix with a squishy boxer face and a permanent smile. She loves other dogs, loves people, and is always ready to play. The kind of dog who sees a new friend and immediately assumes you're here for a good time. Not too big. Not too small. Just the right size to join you for an adventure and still fit comfortably on the couch afterward. What we love most about Violet is how happy she is. Her tail is almost always moving, she's social without being overwhelming, and she has a way of making people smile right back at her. Violet is fully vetted and ready to find a family of her own. Applications can be submitted at bchsohio.org/adoption-application/

Story
Jerald is the canine equivalent of that friend who always hangs out in the corner at parties—he`s been at one of our partner shelters for 7 long months, just waiting for someone to scoop him up and show him what fun really looks like. You’d think they’d have given him the “Most Patient Pup” award by now!Being in a kennel has made Jerald a little shy and unsure, kind of like when you show up to a dance party and realize you don’t know the moves. But don’t worry, with the right family, he’ll be busting out the worm in no time! He’s got a gentle soul, and all he needs is a patient, loving home—just no sudden salsa lessons, please.Jerald is good with other dogs, which means he`s basically the life of the dog park! Cats, on the other hand, are like the unpredictable wild cards—he might chase them if they`re feeling a bit spicy or decide to role-play as a dog-copter. And kids? They’re great, as long as they understand the two golden rules: respect Jerald’s boundaries and don’t ask him to share his snacks—he’s got his priorities straight! After waiting far too long to trade kennel floors for cozy couches, Jerald is ready to learn what it means to be truly loved. So if you`re looking to add a little shy sweetness (and maybe some doggy shenanigans) to your life, Jerald is your guy!

I`m a wiggly, happy dog who`s always ready to make you smile. I`ve got a goofy side and I`m not afraid to show it. I love playing, especially when there`s water involved. Splashes, puddles, or anything wet instantly make my day better. I`m sweet by nature and enjoy being around someone who likes to have fun. My energy is playful, but it comes with a lot of affection too. I`m the kind of companion who turns ordinary moments into something a little sillier. If you like laughter, movement, and a bit of splash, we`ll get along just fine.

I`m basically your future shadow, wherever you go, I`ll be happily right beside you soaking up every bit of love and attention you`re willing to give. I`m a sweet, gentle girl with a calm heart, excellent manners, and a serious talent for giving the best kisses. One of my favorite things is sitting politely like a little lady while I wait for cuddles, compliments, or a spot next to you on the couch. I`m happiest when I`m close to my people, sharing quiet moments, wagging my tail, and reminding you every day just how loved you are.

Story
🐾 Meet Reno! 🐾Reno is a 2-year-old pitbull weighing around 60 lbs with a big heart, a playful personality, and lots of love to give! 💙Reno has lived with other large dogs, adults, and kids ranging from newborns to teens. He enjoys playing with other dogs, though he can be a little shy at first after being bullied by dogs in his previous home. Once he feels comfortable, his fun-loving side shines through! 🎾🐶He is house trained with only the occasional accident and is crate trained as well. In fact, Reno is happiest relaxing in his crate while you’re away. If left loose alone, he can get anxious and may tear things up, so crating is recommended when nobody is home.Reno is very friendly with people and will happily announce visitors with his bark. He still believes jumping up to greet people is the best idea ever, so he could use a little work on manners. He already knows sit, down, stay, and give paw! 🐾Like many pitties, Reno LOVES toys — balls, squeaky toys, tug toys, and bones are some of his favorites. He also enjoys digging and absolutely does not appreciate rainy weather. ☔😂Reno walks on a leash but still thinks pulling is part of the adventure, so continued leash training would help him succeed. He gets excited around dogs, people, kids, and cats. While he has lived around cats, he has been known to chase outdoor cats and can be less friendly with unfamiliar cats.Baths are tolerated because apparently humans insist on them, even though Reno thinks he smells just fine already. 😅 He’s also not a huge fan of having his feet touched and can occasionally get jealous around other dogs.Reno would thrive with a family willing to continue building his confidence and helping him polish up his manners while giving him the love and structure he deserves. ❤️Reno's adoption fee is $175. He is neutered, vaccinated, flea & tick treated, microchipped and tested for Lyme and HW. You can stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Monday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption. We're open Monday through Friday 12-5 pm and Saturday 11-3 pm.
