Story
Mac is a sweet senior Boxer. He was brought to the shelter after being found alone in a park&#44 and while hes resilient&#44 the kennel environment is taking a toll. This gentle boy is longing for a calm&#44 loving home where he can finally relax and feel safe.

Mac can be selective with his dog friends&#44 but he has shown he can get along with certain dogs in the shelter. With a proper meet-and-greet and a slow introduction&#44 he has great potential to thrive in a home with other compatible canine companions.

If youre a Boxer lover looking for a loyal&#44 affectionate companion&#44 Mac is ready to meet you. He deserves a second chance to spend his golden years in comfort&#44 surrounded by love&#44 attention&#44 and a family that will appreciate his big heart.

Story
Roxys story starts in April 2025&#44 when she was found as an emaciated stray wandering around central El Paso. She was skin and bones&#44 exhausted&#44 and clearly had been on her own for far too long. She was brought to the shelter&#44 and slowly Roxy began to heal.

For months&#44 Roxy showed everyone exactly who she really is: a calm&#44 gentle&#44 good girl who makes friends easily with both dogs and humans. Shes sweet-natured&#44 affectionate&#44 curious&#44 and just quietly fits into your life and makes everything better.

After so long in the shelter with no interest&#44 Roxy has started to struggle. The stress of waiting and being overlooked took a toll&#44 and she recently had to have her tail amputated due to happy tail&#44 a condition caused by chronic stress in the shelter environment. Despite everything&#44 Roxy remains nothing but loving and gentle.

Roxy is:
- A little cautious at first with new people&#44 but warms up quickly and just wants to be loved
- So quiet you hardly know shes there (no barking&#44 even a silent sleeper!)
- Fully house trained
- A total couch potato who lives for cuddles&#44 plush blankets&#44 belly rubs&#44 and booty scratches
- Sweet&#44 gentle&#44 affectionate&#44 and incredibly easy to have around
- Knows tricks and is a great listener
- Loves attention and human affection more than anything
- Walks very well on leash; may pull a bit at first but corrects easily
- Not reactive to other dogs and doesnt bark at them-just calmly curious
- Crate trained and well-mannered in the home
- Great in the car
- A FETCH MASTER (Level 10!) - rolls the ball right back every single time&#44 often with her tongue out
- Athletic but not clumsy at all-graceful and coordinated
- Sleeps in bed with you like a total pro&#44 and even waits to be invited up! She finds a spot and doesnt move a muscle all night

We believe Roxy once had a home and was deeply loved. Shes a good girl with so much love to give&#44 and she still hasnt had the chance to truly be someones dog again. Shes just been overlooked.

Roxy doesnt ask for much&#44 just a soft place to land&#44 a couch with cozy blankets&#44 belly rubs&#44 and someone who will finally see her.

Story
Hello gentle people! My name is Grace! I`m not sure why my last family abandoned me, and I was very scared and nervous when I started living at Safe Haven with a lot of other doggies. The people here say that I was `emaciated` when I got here, but they say I look gorgeous now! I know it sure feels great to get fed breakfast and dinner EVERY SINGLE DAY! The doggy doctor thinks I was born around 5/27/2020 and that I am a Boxer/Boston terrier mixed breed. I just adore all the friends I have made here at the sanctuary, the doctor`s office, and the Safe Haven Thrift Store. The Safe Haven people say that they named me Grace because my last family didn`t treat me very nicely but I am still very friendly and show `grace` to the new humans in my life. Can I show YOU my `Grace`?Lots of love and licks,`Amazing Grace`Note from Safe Haven: we believe Grace had a rough life before coming to us. She will most likely take a little while to settle into a new home. It will be best for Grace if she is the only pet in a household with no children. Grace has learned many tricks and manners since coming to our sanctuary, and she is looking for patient people to teach her all about household living.
