UPDATE: Sept. 25, 2024
The family sent some pictures to give a sense of what he would be like in your home! They brought him inside last night because he had neuter surgery yesterday. I'll post some of those pics in the gallery.
They said that he appears to be house-trained, and he did great with their young child. He is also good with their other dog! He is approx 3 yrs old and weighs 62 pounds, currently.
And please remember that he received all his vaccines and tested NEGATIVE for heartworms, yesterday. He has received a heartworm prevention tablet, already.
Durham, by all accounts, is the Perfect dog; but, they truly cannot keep him. They are a wonderful family who is trying to do the right thing for this dog; but, seriously cannot keep him beyond Oct. 4th.
Please consider Durham to be your newest cherished family member. He is ready to go and transport is available!

Here is another precious soul with no place to go! He wandered up to a home and has camped out there. Look at his sad face... No microchip, not neutered, no collar, no one looking for him.... We believe he was dumped.
The homeowners are allowing him to stay, but only temporarily since they have 2 toddlers and 2 dogs already. Also, they have a trip planned for early October. He's got to go before then.
BHS is having him vaccinated and neutered today, Sept 24, 2024 and he is heartworm NEGATIVE; but, we have no available space for him. Wherever he goes now, he is going to be in good shape!
PLEASE, PLEASE consider taking this boy under your wing! He seems to be good with other dogs - they briefly introduced him to one of theirs. We don't know about cats. He's friendly to humans and loves affection. He weighs 62 pounds, but he's skinny right now. They guess him to be approximately 3 years old.
If you can help, please let me know right away (remember there is that Oct 4th deadline) and I'll put you in touch with the people whose home he is calling his own right now. Poor baby doesn't know that it really isn't. =(
