Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Aggie is a joyful, wiggly girl who will make you feel like the most important person in the world. With her always-wagging tail and eager-to-please personality, she’s your personal fan girl, ready to shower you with love and excitement. This sweet, fast little rocket could thrive in dog sports like fast CAT or agility but has a medium energy level—ready for play and exploration, then happy to settle as a couch hippo when it’s time to relax. Dog-friendly and a bit goofy around awkward pups, Aggie enjoys playing with her foster sisters and boyfriends, like Toby and the neighbor’s dogs. She’s making great progress on potty training and house manners, proving her intelligence and adaptability. Whether you’re looking for a yardwork buddy, a loyal companion, or a dog with the potential to earn ribbons, Aggie might be the perfect fit for your family. Story
Navy came with his housemate Sprout to CVHS when his family had major life challenges. Navy is very friendly, will jump to greet you, and possibly try to be in your skin. He loves car rides, attention from humans, and to run! He has previously lived with a child under 6 years old, but he`s a jumpy boy, so older kids in his new home would be best. He does great with pal Sprout but hasn`t made any other dog friends in a while. Navy cannot live with cats, as he will chase them, and not playfully. When his people were not around, he was confined to the kitchen and did well for a few hours at a time. He is not crate trained.A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Navy`s $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email info@centralvermonthumane.org, to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Navy.

Story
Hi my name is Lily, I'm about a year old and am a true puppy at heart. I like to play with my foster brother Theo and run free in the back yard. I like to play with my toys and make it look like a winter wonderland in the living room. I'm still learning as I'm young but I am food and love motivated. I am learning to not jump when I want pets but I love my humans so much it's hard. I sit and do know paw but I only give it when I want to. I am learning potty and for the most part go outside but do use potty pads. I find my crate to be my safe place and don't mind going into it while my people work who wouldn't mind extra treats lol. I sleep with my people at night and I am a great cuddled. If you work with me as I am still you feel and need training you won't be disappointed I am a great puppy who will give you lots of love in return. Hi

Story
*Due to state laws regarding out of state adoptions, we cannot adopt to families in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.* Fisher is a big, loveable boy ready for his forever home. He plays well with all humans but prefers female or docile male pups. He doesn't play well with cats so a cat-free home is a must for him.   Fisher lost an eye and had damage done to his nose when someone shot him in his face. He snorts a lot and breathes loudly but he's just happy to be alive. He has never shown any aggression towards humans, even though no one could blame him if he did, but he is cautious of strangers and needs to be introduced slowly to new people. Listed breed is an educated guess made by our veterinarian and is NOT a guarantee - this also means we have no way of knowing what a puppy's adult size will be. This dog is currently being fostered in Mississippi and will be transported via Barton's Barkers transport services upon adoption. Their adoption fee is $500 and includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, a nose to tail vet check, microchip and transport costs. Second Chances lists dogs as being available in White River Junction, VT because we transport our dogs to the area every 3rd week after they have been adopted. All of our local shelters have a high euthanasia rate due to overpopulation so we created our rescue group to primarily adopt to the northern states to help keep as many dogs as we can from entering our kill shelters.   ##1372437##
