Story
Urgent Adoption Needed!    Due to unexpected and severe health challenges faced by our dedicated rescue partner - Fagin’s Haven Rescue - including a month-long hospitalization and ongoing medical treatments, we are urgently seeking a forever home for Nils. He's a wonderful, fun-loving affectionate, goofy boy. We hope you'll consider opening your heart and home during the rescue's time of need. Adopting now can make a world of difference to both the dogs and our rescue partner. Act quickly and be a hero in their story.   Nils   Male, Boxer Mix, Estimated  Birthday 4/4/2022,  weight 32 pounds   Temperament: Sweet, Silly, Affectionate, Playful, Loyal, Couch Potato, Very Goodboy!   This handsome boy is full of playful puppy antics and silliness.  He is a cutie-pie and knows how to work his adorableness to his advantage. Extra treats.  Yes! Sitting on the couch.  Yes!  It’s hard to say no to your best buddy.  Nils enjoys tug of war, romping with other dogs, and outdoor sniffing adventures.  He proudly finds outdoor bones (also known as sticks) and generously shares them with his hooman. A peanut butter chewy stick is his total jam, rolling around on his back in ecstasy while gnawing it.    Nils is smart and a quick learner, especially when T-R-E-A-T-S are involved.  Alert and curious, Nils wears the silliest, most puzzled expression when he sees or experiences something for the first time. He adores cuddling on the couch watching TV.  He enjoys nature shows too and get excited when he sees other dogs on TV!  He is a total cuddle bug and has discovered that laps are the very best place for napping, especially when your hooman gently strokes your ears and rubs your belly.    He’s a fun loving dog who would love a house with a toy box full and friends of the human and canine variety.  He gets along ok with cats but is a little too ruff and playful for most.  He is crate trained and working on leash and house manners; with consistency and a good schedule he will learn to do the right thing in no time.   A DNA test was performed on one of Nils adopted siblings with results showing his litter to be predominantly boxer with a small amount of Black and Tan Coonhound in his DNA mix.  Whatever his ancestry, he is one hundred percent adorable!     House training in progress - going well Crate trained Good with Dogs and Kids A little too rough for most cats   ** A generous donor has sponsored the adoption fee which helps cover age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, deworming and microchipping.  Nils can be transported to White River Junction, VT for a fee of $160.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions     Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   * Additional information is available on our site caninecompassionfund.org October 2, 2023, 7:17 pm

Story
If you are interested in PRESTON or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. PRESTON is a bite-sized pup overflowing with bubbling, loving, warm energy. He currently lives with his sibling PATTON, who is also part of Woof River Rescue, and many resident dogs. These precious little rascals love to wear each other out in the backyard, tumbling and tussling themselves silly until they’re ready to retreat inside for a nap. PRESTON is eager for any adventure you have in store, but also knows when to settle down and curl up next to you while you catch up on your favorite shows. His engaging personality and friendly disposition will make for a smooth introduction to any of your current family members. PRESTON is well on his way to mastering his house breaking etiquette and does well in his crate when his foster family is away from the house. No need to stress if you need to slip away from the house for a few hours-he will be there wagging his tail happily upon your return. Puppies as adorable as PRESTON and PATTON are rare, so apply today to make him a part of your forever family! To see even more pictures of PRESTON copy and paste the following link into your browser https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/f7n8sngfvrl8tlq8lpsuz/h?rlkey=4csp20otxn4nxpn1c92gs2boy&dl=0 PRESTON is microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $540 adoption fee covers the interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. For an adoption application on PRESTON click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Our pets are fostered and physically located in North Carolina until adopted. We can transport to your location or any of our delivery locations once you adopt. We have a very affordable transporter who goes north every other week. Cosmo is a boxer mix. He was born 12-19-22. He is super affectionate and very loving. He absolutely wonderful with people. He would be best in a home with no other dogs. If not he would be great with a larger breed female. He is very smart and attentive. He has been started on crate training and potty training. He will go to his new home neutered, current on vaccinations, deworming, preventives. He will be micro-chipped. He will receive a complete physical and a certificate of health issued by our vet prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that one the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net .
