Story
I adopted Gemma from a shelter. I liked the boxer breed as my son had one. I was naive to think she came without problems as both of my previous dogs had sweet dispositions. I believe she was abused in her past as she shows reactive behavior.

Story
Koda Gallego | Your New Best Friend Koda is one of those puppies who makes you wonder how a dog this young can already be so incredibly affectionate. With his tan coat, adorable black snout, and irresistible puppy-dog eyes, Koda is basically a professional cuddler in training—and he's very serious about his work! Estimated to have been born around May 17, 2026, Koda currently weighs approximately 14.5 lbs and is believed to be a Boxer/Labrador Retriever mix. As with all rescue puppies, his breed and birthday are our best educated guesses. You can watch Koda in action here, then come right back to read more! Koda is an absolute people-lover. He wants to be wherever his humans are and is happiest when he's sitting in your lap, being held, or covering your face with puppy kisses. He has such a naturally friendly, affectionate personality that it didn't take long to fall completely in love with him. He's the kind of puppy who makes you immediately think, "Can I just take you home?" Koda is currently fostered with his brother, Simba, and the two love spending their days playing together. He's also been introduced to other dogs and a cat and has done wonderfully with both. He's a very social puppy who enjoys meeting new friends and has had plenty of positive experiences that have helped him become the confident, happy little guy he is today. He's also proving to be a pretty fantastic roommate already. Koda has done very well with potty training, isn't particularly vocal, and rides beautifully in the car. He's highly food motivated and happily accepts treats, which should make continuing his puppy training that much easier. Koda has been given an incredible start by his foster family, and it shows. He's been surrounded by love, exposed to new experiences, and given plenty of opportunities to learn how wonderful the world can be. Because of that, we expect him to transition beautifully into a forever home and quickly become attached to his new people. If you're looking for a puppy who is affectionate, playful, social, food-motivated, and already off to a fantastic start, Koda Gallego might just be your dream boy. Just be prepared for the kisses—this little guy has plenty to give! Story
Simba Gallegos | The Sweet, Smart Puppy Simba is the kind of puppy who has a little bit of everything you could want: sweet, playful, affectionate, social, and incredibly smart. With his soft sandy-colored coat, adorable black snout, and gentle personality, Simba is one handsome little guy who is already off to an amazing start. Estimated to have been born around May 17, 2026, Simba currently weighs approximately 14.8 lbs and is believed to be a Boxer/Labrador Retriever mix. As with all rescue puppies, his breed and birthday are our best educated guesses. Watch Simba in action, then come back to read more! Simba is currently fostered with his brother, Koda, and the two love playing together. While he's just as social and friendly as his brother, Simba has a slightly calmer, more thoughtful personality. He's happy to join in the fun but doesn't feel the need to be the center of attention every second. He's also an affectionate little guy who absolutely loves attention. Simba may take a little more time than his brother to decide that he's ready to offer up those puppy cuddles, but once he's comfortable, he'll happily accept all the love you have to give. He's already showing how naturally adaptable he is, warming up quickly to new people and experiences thanks in large part to the wonderful foundation his foster family has given him. And this boy is smart! Simba is extremely food motivated and will happily work for a treat. He already knows sit and picked up lay remarkably quickly. He's the kind of puppy who enjoys learning and seems genuinely interested in figuring out what you're asking of him, making him a fun little guy to continue training as he grows. Simba has been well socialized with other dogs and cats and has done wonderfully with both. He loves playing with his brother and enjoys having other furry friends around. He's also doing fantastic with potty training and has actually picked it up a little faster than Koda—proof that this clever boy is paying attention! Simba is already showing all the qualities of a wonderful family companion. He's playful without being nonstop, affectionate without being demanding, and curious without being reckless. His foster family has given him such a great start, and you can see it in the way he confidently approaches new experiences and settles into unfamiliar situations. If you're looking for a puppy who is equal parts smart, playful, affectionate, and easy to love, Simba Gallegos is ready to meet you! He's got the brains, the heart, and just enough puppy mischief to keep life interesting! Story
Madonna Sweet Star has perfected the art of the full-body wiggle wag which has one effect on people, which is making someone smile before they have even gotten to actually say hello to her. Between the wiggle-wag of joy and the neck rolls that defy science- it works like a charm! At an estimated 4 years old and 45 pounds, Madonna has the look of a bigger dog tucked into a wonderfully pocket-sized package of joy- the perfect medium-sized pal with a giant heart basically. Go watch Madonna Sweet Star on YouTube, then come right back to read more. Her video is the best introduction to those irresistible neck rolls, her endlessly happy personality, and the joyful way she greets both people and the world around her. https://youtu.be/PKeMm7iNBzE We believe Madonna is a Pug/ boxer mix of some sort, but she is a rescue, so her exact breed and age cannot be guaranteed. Thanks to a dedicated foster, Madonna is enjoying the kind of life that has helped her become an exceptionally well-rounded companion. Her foster shared she ishouse trained, crate trained, and incredibly easy to live with. She has excellent house manners and settles beautifully indoors, happily lounging nearby while you work, watch TV, or simply enjoy a quiet evening at home. Her foster regularly brings her into the family's businesses where new faces are a norm and from the beginning she took the role of being a polite ambassador serious. In fact, Madonna absolutely thrived! She happily wanders from person to person collecting treats, soaking up attention, and making new friends with that signature happy confidence of hers. She's the kind of dog who just knows strangers are simply people who haven’t gotten the pleasure of meeting her yet. That same friendly attitude extends to other dogs as well. Madonna enjoys meeting new dogs and especially seems to adore goofy, playful male dogs who appreciate her happy, social nature. At this time, Madonna is looking for a home without cats or small dogs, where her play style and personality will be the best fit. One of the things that we were all so impressed with is how easy she is to handle. She walks beautifully on leash with a calm, easy pace and is happy to join you for even short neighborhood walks. She doesnt need miles but absolutely enjoys spending that time together. She already knows sit and down, is very treat motivated, is eager to learn and enjoys working with her people. Despite having aspirations of becoming a full-time lap dog, Madonna is wonderfully respectful around the house. She loves affection, happily hands out kisses, and would be thrilled to curl up beside you after a day together. She has that lovely balance of being affectionate without being overwhelming, making her an easy companion for a variety of homes. One place Madonna appreciates a little extra help is getting into the car. She prefers a boost or being lifted in, but once she's settled inside, she rides comfortably and quietly for the rest of the trip. Think of it as her way of making sure you get one extra opportunity to show her you care before the adventure begins. Madonna is simply one of those wonderfully uncomplicated dogs. She's social, happy, well-mannered, affectionate, and genuinely enjoys sharing life with her people. If you're looking for a dog who can accompany you through everyday adventures, greets friends with contagious enthusiasm, and then happily relaxes by your side when the day winds down, Madonna is ready and waiting for you! If you think Madonna Super Sweet sounds like your perfect match, fill out an adoption application on our website. Once we've reviewed your application, an adoption coordinator will happily reach out to tell you more about her and answer any questions you may have. We can't wait for you to meet this joyful little wiggle-butt! Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a56c66614cb6cdba1040a7c Questions? Meet Joe — A Handsome Purebred Boxer Boy Looking for His Forever Home Joe is a beautiful 1½-year-old purebred Boxer with a big heart and a lot of love to give. This handsome boy came into rescue when his family was no longer able to care for him, and he is now looking for a forever home where he can be loved and cherished. Joe is fully neutered, up to date on vaccinations, housebroken, and ready to begin the next chapter of his life. He is an intelligent, affectionate Boxer who loves spending time with his people. He enjoys the company of both men and women and would do best with older children who understand and appreciate his playful, loving personality. Like many Boxers, Joe is smart, loyal, and eager to be part of the family. He loves attention and will happily be your companion, whether that means daily walks, playing fetch, relaxing together at home, going for adventures, or simply being by your side. Joe would do well with a friendly female dog as a canine companion with proper introductions or be happy as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love. This handsome Boxer has so much love to offer and is ready to find the people who will give him the same devotion and loyalty he gives in return. Could Joe be the missing piece in your family? He’s waiting to meet you!
