You'd NEVER believe it, but Tyson is a senior citizen! At 10 years old, he'll still give most of us a run for our money, however, as he loves to romp around and play! He's...um...very distinct looking, wouldn't you say??? His previous owners had had him since he was a puppy but couldn't take him with them where they were moving, so here are, hoping someone will give this googly-eyed fella a second chance! We know he gets along with most other pups and kids, but we're not sure about cats. He also adores care rides! Age is just a number and Tyson knows it! Come visit him on our Dog Adoption Floor! Toffee is a 1 year old boxer mix that weighs about 38 pounds. Toffee would love having another dog to play with in her new home. She enjoys running around, playing with other dogs in her foster home. A securely fenced yard is required. Adopters with a history of excellent care for current or previous pets will be considered. Toffee walks good on a leash. She is house broken and kennel trained. Buster was found running down the road. We found out that he was adopted from a shelter, but the lady couldn't keep him, so she gave him away and apparently, they didn't want him either. He's a good boy just looking for his forever family. He is 5 months old and gets along with everyone. Meet Pepper & Princess – A Beautiful Boxer Duo 💕 Pepper and her daughter Princess are a bonded pair of Boxers with hearts as big as their smiles. They came into our rescue several months ago after their owner experienced life changes and could no longer care for them. When they arrived, both girls were underweight and had never received proper veterinary care. They were heartworm positive and neither had been spayed. Thanks to the love and dedication of our rescue, Pepper and Princess are now fully up to date on vaccines and have successfully completed heartworm treatment. They’ve come such a long way and are healthier, happier, and ready for their next chapter. Personality-wise, these two are absolute gems. They are incredibly sweet, gentle, and polite — no jumping here! They do wonderfully with other dogs, puppies, and even cats. Their calm, loving nature makes them a joy to be around. Pepper and Princess are crate trained and stay in their crates when left home alone. Their crates are their cozy, safe spaces, and they settle in without any issues. These girls would thrive in a home where they can truly be part of the family — lounging nearby, soaking up love, and enjoying life together. Bricks is a 9 year old, pitbull mix who is absolutely built like a brick. Short, heavy, thick, brown-ish red. He's a low rider with tiny little legs and minimum ground clearance. Bricks is a charming little guy who likes to bounce, sniff and explore! He's happy, friendly and loves to cuddle up under a warm blanket. He was house trained but may need a refresher after being kenneled. He's excellent on-leash and is the perfect little partner to stroll with you around the neighborhood. Bricks was adopted out from a rescue years ago. Shortly, after being adopted from them, he stripped his collar while out for a walk and hurt another dog. Tougher than the 90's crime bill, Va law labeled Bricks as "dangerous" and he will pay for that mistake for the rest of his life. One strike, he's out. He's lucky he isn't dead. He was able to live at a sanctuary ran by that rescue but when they closed, Bricks had no where to go. Lucky for him, the President of Augusta Dog Adoptions is famililar with Va law and was willing to care for Bricks as legally required. Bricks can be adopted within the state of Va with additional requirements. But hey, we have good dogs that no one wants so the chances of that are slim to none. Brick's best chance of finding a home is out of state. He cannot go to a home with cats. He has been ok with some dogs but dominant/aggressive with others. The safest place for him is in a home without other pets. I don't know how to tell someone they should adopt a dog with such a label. You would just have to meet him for yourself. He's little and kind and cute and funny and he deserves to have a family who loves him.
