Story
Ollie is an affectionate and adventurous companion, and DDB's token "Golden Bachelor." He's an older gentleman at approximately 9 years old, but you'd never guess it! He has a zest for life and a personality bigger than any you've seen. This spunky 55lb pup has the cutest bobbed tail that makes his entire body waggle and wiggle when he's happy and is looking for someone to share it all with! Ollie is the type of dog that just wants to do everything with his person. He loves car rides, walks in the park, trips to the drive-thru, watching TV, snuggling, and just hanging out. He's more than willing to head to Starbucks for a pup-cup date or cuddle up on the couch for a movie marathon. Ollie is a people pleaser who enjoys showing off his tricks, practicing new ones, and making his person smile simply from seeing that goofy, crooked, ADORABLE smile of his! He can a bit cautious of new people, but if you break out the snacks, he realizes you're "one of the good ones" and will be your best friend! Ollie is good with most dogs but prefers older mellow females and dogs who aren't too much in his face. He is a more relaxed soul and would do well with dogs that match his energy. Because he can be iffy with some dogs, he should not go to dog parks, playgroups etc. where he is no longer directly in control with his person. He has not been officially cat tested but he's been fine with cats on his current foster's property outside, as well as been fine with smaller dogs and lives near farm animals and shows no prey drive. Ollie should not live with small children due to being nervous around them and their energy, but older children are ok. He walks well on a leash without any reactivity to humans or other dogs, is potty trained, crate trained and listens well when he's called. If you're looking for a super chill companion dog, Ollie may be the guy for you!

Bruno is almost completely done healing! His mouth looks great, his eyes are bright, he’s gained weight and his tail has only a couple of small scabs left! 💙CALLING ALL BOXER LOVERS!! 💙 Bruno is more than ready to finally find his forever home! If you know someone who is looking for a best friend and companion- let them know! This deserving boy is UTD on shots and neutered. His true age is unknown but we’ve settled on thinking he is more between the 5-6 year old range. He is amazing at his basic commands…sit, lay down, stay, paw and UP! When trail walking he has unbelievable leash skills…he never pulls on a leash and watches your pace to see if he should walk faster to keep up with you or slow down to stay right there by your side. He is a mostly calm boy who loves to lounge around all day (and would be happy to do so!) but loves to run and play with toys for just a little while (in a fenced in yard) when a companion is nearby. He has been great around multiple female dogs (male dogs are questionable though) and has not been cat tested. He’s only had a couple of accidents during times when he has drank lots of water and hasn’t been able to go out within an hour after doing so (frequent bathroom breaks are always a good thing!) He sleeps through the entire night by your side! This guy is truly something special…he is a velcro dog and is destined to be someone’s best friend. He follows you everywhere and will happily lay at your feet (or in your bed💕), go on car rides or just walk around the yard with you. He is a very faithful companion. He does get anxiety when left alone in a crate, so we are hopeful that he will be able to find an adopter who is retired, maybe works from home or just has the time to spend with him that he deserves. He is just a GREAT dog! If you know someone who Bruno sounds perfect for-please tag and share! This boy has been through so much and he’s ready to have a human to call his own! Meet Red,Red was surrendered to our shelter because his family could no longer care for him due to a breed restriction from their landlord. They loved him very much, and he was wonderful in their home. He walks well on a leash and loves everyone he has met at the shelter. He does not enjoy kennel life and all the dogs barking around him, but if you have other dogs, we could do a meet and greet to see how they get along. He is up to date on all his vaccines, micro-chipped and neutered. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 60 Age: 1yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Looking to rehome our beloved boxer/pit mix Luna. Luna just turned 3 in December, she is a very happy girl with LOTS of energy. Unfortunately she and our oldest dog do not get along and have gotten into several fights. Despite our ongoing attempts to keep both dogs it has just become to much and unfair to them. I currently have three including Luna and Luna and my other dog have not had any issues, she just seems to not do well with our oldest that is about 8. This is beyond hard for me but she deserves a chance at another home where preferably she would be the only animal. Luna is house broke, crate trained, she is spayed and micro chipped as well.

Story
Hey, look at me! My name is Kirby and I'm a cutie! I'm not sure what breed of dog I am but you could buy one of those DNA tests and have some fun figuring it out. I'm surprisingly petite, a nice medium weight. They say the camera adds 10 pounds and I agree! I look bigger in my pics so really do need to come meet me! I hear that being good with cats might increase my chance of finding someone who wants to take me home and I have to tell you....I lived with a herd of cats before we were all taken away and ended up in a shelter. Still, I'm a kind, pretty calm and well adjusted boy who is ready to be a part of your family for years to come. I'm guessed to be around 3 years old and 40-45 pounds and I'm guaranteed to be a great friend so ask about adopting me today! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. We also have reduced or waived adoption fees for many seniors, dogs with speciall medical or behavioral needs and other "slow to adopt" dogs. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Heyo! My name is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and I'm a 3 year old Pittie/Boxer/Mastiff cross that is looking for a cozy sofa to snooze away my days on! I am a big old boy, at around 90lbs, and would love, love to snuggle in close to you and take a good, long nap! Ah the dream! I am a pretty calm pup and do like to spend most of my days lounging about. I am a big baby and would you believe it, I love to sit in staffs laps here! I'm not a very high energy boy, but I do still love a good walk and enjoy going for short walkies; I am pretty good on leash, despite my size, and promise that I won't pull you down the street! I am a sweet, gentle boy, who does take a second to warm up, but please, get to know me, because I'm so worth getting to know and promise that I'll be the best new buddy that you could ever wish for! My adoption fee is $175, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Dale!

Story
Meet our sweet and spicy girl, Cinnamon! Cinnamon NEEDS a foster home but what she WANTS is a forever home. While she is currently being well taken care of while boarding at Blue Ridge Canine Safehouse, nothing is compares to a home of your own. Cinny (as she likes to be called) is an older lady who loves the finer things... cozy beds, softer foods, lots of naps and, of course, snuggles. She's quiet, polite, potty trained and well, pretty darn close to perfect. Unfortunately, her past life has made her a bit nervous meeting new people, but she shines in a low foot traffic home traffic home with limited social requirements. At her age, Cinny is low activity. She would much rather snooze on a bed in a sunbeam peeking through a living room window than exercise. We can't blame her though. In dog years, she could be a founding AARP member. But hey, age is a number and hers is unlisted! (Don't tell her we said she's old. I don't want her to look down her snoot at us.) Cinny needs to be an only pet. No exceptions. We know that's hard, but we believe this sweet girl deserves to enjoy her retirement exactly as she has planned. BUT Cinny is lonely and would LOVE human companionship. She has been overlooked for YEARS - It's her turn!! Please help us find a place for Cinny. Even just a foster home. All she wants is peace and quiet, snacks and ear scritches. (Same, Cinny, same. ) Maybe you know someone low-key with no pets who would be a wonderful guardian and companion for an old gal. Share her! Operation Find-Cinny-A-Sofa starts now!

Story
Meet your Royal and Regal Ruler, June! Her Majesty June has been ruling this Kingdom for several years now, she's around 11 years old and more than fit to lead such a community of animal lovers. June loves her loyal subjects (especially the human females), but can be a little shy of new human males- what if they just want her for her crown?? We were told that she has previously lived with children and did okay, as well. Her Majesty is well behaved in her "palace," where she is crate trained, doggy door trained, and displays the best manners that anybody of royal background could have! As a ruler, June likes to get out into her Kingdom to ensure everything is running smoothly and that the citizens have no issues that are being ignored- because of this, June certainly loves a good carriage ride in your car, and likely wouldn't say no to a pup-cup here and there.... Her Majesty June not only has excellent car manners, but does well on a leash too, which is great for exploring the less-carriage/car-accessible areas of the Kingdom. As she looks for a new castle to call HOME, June would like one that does NOT have any feline friends, and while she enjoys the company of some male FURends, June would prefer to not have to share her throne with anybody! If you're looking for a sweet, low energy, low maintenance queen to rule your Kingdom, June is the gal for you!

Story
Are you on a mission to find an out-of-this-world pup to traipse across the galaxy with, fighting crime and saving lives? Look no further- Xena "pretty-much-a-warrior-princess is here! At approximately 1 year old, Xena is a hero in her own way! She has battled the hard fight of being a young outside dog that was underweight and unwell, and is now living on top of the world as a spoiled foster girl! Once reserved from her past, Xena has chosen to not let her hardship define her and continues to come out of her shell, letting her true princess mentality shine! She has developed a lot of confidence from her foster sibling and would thrive in a house with fur siblings that would provide that same boost she needs to feel comfortable. It would also help Xena in understanding the rules and having someone to take those journeys with her as she springs to action! As many warrior princesses are, Xena is young, energetic, and full of life. She LOVES to romp and play, and saving the world from evil injustice's is of course on her bucket list. She is housebroken and does amazing with routine. With her being so young and new to her role as a warrior princess (WP), she is still in WP training and will require crating when not being actively supervised. The great thing is, she loves her crate and does phenomenal with a nice bone or frozen kong to keep her occupied as she plans her next quest. If Xena sounds like the warrior princess you've been searching for, then apply for her here!
