Hi, I'm Ryder! Okay, real talk life hasn't always been easy for me. I came from a pretty rough situation that left me with a badly broken leg and a whole lot of uncertainty about what came next. But here's the thing: the incredible humans at Love For Dogs swooped in, got me to an amazing orthopedic vet who basically gave me a brand new leg, and suddenly... I had a future.I've spent the last three months on crate rest (ugh, don't even get me started), but I'm finally getting to rediscover what it means to just be a dog. Walk around freely? Yes please. Sniff things without a time limit? Absolutely. I'm still figuring out how to use my front leg like a pro again, but I'm working on it every single day and honestly? I'm kind of proud of how far I've come.Here's what I know for sure: I am a snuggler. World class. Olympic level. My foster siblings think I'm pretty great, and I think they're pretty great too (we have a whole little pack thing going on). I recently went to the groomer for the first time and spoiler alert I was a total champ. Turns out when life is good, even a blow dryer isn't that scary.I'm 2 years old, 16 lbs of Brussels Griffon meets Border Terrier (translation: big personality, adorable face, maximum charm). Meet Hazel! Hazel was a foster out of Pinal county. She escaped over a year ago and was not found until one of our volunteers humanely trapped her. She had been seen for several days near a Walmart. Hazel was trapped and we found that she was microchipped. We were able to bring her into our rescue at that time. Hazel is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She loves other dogs and to snuggle up to you. She walks on a leash too. Hazel is very sweet. She love to play with stuffies! She can entertain herself just tossing one around. We are looking for her forever home. We believe she was found when she initially escaped her foster but was able to get out at some point from the people that picked her up. Because of this she will need to be in a home with children 12 or older or no children. She is flight risk and considered a door dasher. Hazel is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and 4DX (tick/heartworm test) negative. Hazel is approximately 4 years old and weighs 29 pounds.
