Story
Nacho is a loyal, spirited pup who thrives once he’s built trust with his person. While his bark might sound intimidating at first, it’s just his way of expressing uncertainty — outside of the kennel, he settles down quickly and shows his softer side. Once comfortable, Nacho ~ a 5-year-old Bull Terrier mix ~ loves affection (especially face kisses!) and enjoys engaging in energetic, playful interactions — including a bit of roughhousing with his mouth. Due to his excitable nature, Nacho can become mouthy and may react if grabbed while overstimulated, so he’ll do best with an experienced, confident handler who understands canine body language and play styles. He responds well to clear boundaries and firm, consistent commands. Nacho is not recommended for first-time dog owners, but with the right person, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal and loving companion. Nacho would do best as the only pet in the home, where he can receive one-on-one attention and continue to build on his training and trust. In the right environment, he’s more than capable of being a very good boy.

Meet Moo! Moo is a 10 year old old Bull Terrier. Moo is an alpha female with an independent streak, so she needs a very confident and experienced owner. She would do best with a strict schedule, loads of exercise and a lot of training to keep her engaged. Moo needs a home without other animals, and not recommended for a home with children. She would take well to consistent training. Moo would also need a home with a fence. Moo is a love bug, just needs that 'person' that can give her what she needs! If you are familiar with Bull Terriers and love this sweet girl as much as we do, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org. MOO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We are looking to re-home our Tootsie Pop. Our senior dog was her best friend and the past 3.5 years since we lost her have been extremely difficult on Tootsie. Now with two high-energy toddlers along with our full-time jobs in healthcare requiring frequent travel and long days away from our home, Tootsie spends more time in her crate than our hearts can handle any longer. We know she would do best in a home with another dog to keep her company again and we just cannot take on that responsibility at this time in our lives. So if you are perhaps looking for a companion for your dog(s), have at least a little outdoor space or ability to take her on walks, and TIME to give her the love and attention she so desperately needs, please consider bringing Tootsie into your family. She is 6.5 years old, crate trained, walks ok-ish on a leash (prefers to run wild!), loves people and other dogs and makes a great snuggle buddy. Please help us give her the life she deserves.

Story
Almost 3 year old boxer/pit mix. Free to a loving, responsible family. His name is Bugs and we got him almost 7 months ago. He was my grandson’s and he asked me to take him so of course I did. He’s a great dog our problem is we work and travel a lot so I feel bad for the dog. He is neutered and has all his shots. I want to find a good and happy home for him. He’s wonderful with kids and is house trained. If interested I would like to meet you and see interaction bc he’s still a puppy and needs that attention.

Greta bulldog 2-3 yrs Spayed female ************THIS DOG IS LOCATED IN SCOTTSBURG,INDIANA************************** Greta is a VERY nice girl and will make a lovely companion for the lucky adopter. She is housebroken and is getting used to a crate at night. She loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Greta does have an old injury to her eye and probably can't see much from that eye but it doesn’t seem to bother her and vet suggested leaving it alone.
