Story
Meet Wynona aka Winnie! 🐾 Winnie is a gorgeous female Bull Terrier with a heart as big as her smile. This girl loves people and is happiest when she’s right by your side (or curled up in your lap if you’ll allow it). If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion who thinks humans are the very best thing on earth, Winnie is your girl. When it comes to other dogs, Winnie is pretty indifferent. She’d be perfectly content as your one-and-only, but she could also live with another dog who’s similarly laid-back and not interested in constant play. She does prefer to enjoy her high-value treats and meals on her own, so those should be given separately from other dogs but that’s an easy routine to manage. One of Winnie’s standout qualities is how food motivated she is. Treats are her love language, which makes training fun, effective, and rewarding for everyone involved. She’s eager to learn and happy to work for a snack (or two). She is also a very fast learner! Winnie is potty trained and kennel trained, but will bark if she has to go potty. If you’re dreaming of a people-loving, cuddle-ready Bull Terrier who’s easy to train and full of affection, Winnie is ready to make herself at home with you. 💕 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
Lucy is a loving senior girl who is ready for a calm and caring home where she can enjoy the comfort she deserves. She has a gentle nature and an affectionate heart, always happiest when she gets to be close to her people. Lucy is the type of dog who brings a soft, steady presence to a home and loves nothing more than sharing quiet moments with her family. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys being part of a peaceful pack. Lucy has a friendly, easygoing temperament that makes her a wonderful companion for both humans and pets. Whether she is lounging nearby or following you from room to room, she is happiest when she feels included. She does very well on a leash and enjoys going out for slow, relaxed walks where she can take in the world around her. She would be a great match for someone who appreciates a sweet, steady partner for daily strolls and cozy evenings. *Lucy does qualify for our Seniors for Seniors program, where if you are over the age of 63 you can choose to have the adoption fee waived Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Toby is a 2.5-year-old, 70-lb pit bull terrier with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. His past is largely unknown, and I adopted him from a shelter about two months ago hoping to give him a fresh start. Toby is truly an amazing dog, but I’ve come to the difficult realization that I’m not trained or equipped to give him the life he truly needs. Toby is fully potty trained and crate trained and does best with routine and structure. He loves cuddling, being outside, and playing with his stuffed animals—sticks are his absolute favorite. He bonds deeply with his person and is very loyal and protective of those he trusts. It’s important to be transparent: Toby does have a bite history, primarily in stressful or unfamiliar situations. These behaviors come from fear and protectiveness, not a lack of love. Because of this, Toby will need an experienced, confident owner who understands protective or reactive dogs and can provide clear boundaries, patience, and continued training.

Story
Henry is an 11-year-old Olde English Bulldog with a heart as big as his snooze schedule. This distinguished gentleman is looking for a forever home where he can bask in the sun and perfect his craft as a professional sleeper. He’s happy to be around cats, small to medium dogs (he doesn’t seem to get along well with the big guys) and kids, and enjoys a soft bed and warm blanket to snuggle in. While Henry is a fairly mellow guy, he does resource guard—especially when it comes to treats and bones. He’ll thrive in a home that understands his boundaries and lets him enjoy his meals and treats on his own. Henry will also require ongoing veterinary care to address some long term concerns. As an older guy, he moves around slowly and sometimes needs a boost to get where he’s going. If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back companion who’s mastered the art of relaxation, Henry might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to spend his golden years soaking up love, sunshine, and the occasional snore-filled nap. Adoption fee is $350+tax, please apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Bert is a 3-year-old American Bully with a big head, a beefcake build, and the softest heart to match. Weighing about 50 lbs, this medium-sized guy may look tough, but he’s truly a big sweet baby with zero mean bones in his body. Just wait til you see how he sploots when he sits!Bert is fully house-trained and crate-trained, his kennel is his happy place, and he’ll often go in on his own just to relax or chew a toy. He’s low-energy, easygoing, and perfectly content lounging around the house rather than going on long walks. Bert has shown some resource guarding around the other dogs in his foster home, so his foster family is looking for a dog-free home though this may change in the future. He does not have experience with cats, so a proper introduction is recommended. He has some experience with older children. He does great when left alone, whether crated or free-roaming, no barking, no whining, just naps. Bert isn’t vocal and doesn’t require a fenced yard as long as he’s taken out on leash. He’s happiest chewing on a Benebone, snoozing on his back (legs in the air like a goof), or cuddling directly on top of his favorite human.Overall, Bert is a happy, gentle, low-maintenance companion who would thrive in a calm home where he can soak up love, snuggles, and plenty of naps. If you’re looking for a laid-back cuddle buddy with a silly sploot and an even sillier sleeping position, Bert is your guy.If you are interested in Bert, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
