Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Meet Mei, a sweet and affectionate young dog who is ready to find her family. At about 18 months old and weighing 55 pounds, this brown and tan Doberman/Kelpie/Pit/Bull Terrier mystery mix is the perfect combination of playful energy and snuggly lovebug. Don’t let her breed mix fool you, Mei is truly a lover, not a fighter, and she has a heart full of affection to share. When Mei first arrived, she was sickly, shy, and unsure of herself, but she has blossomed into a happy, playful pup who adores her toys. In fact, you’ll often find her carrying one (or sometimes more!) around the house. She also loves her crate—as long as the door stays open—and will often put herself to bed or curl up there to play with her favorite toys. One of Mei’s most endearing traits is just how loving she is. She adores hugs, freely gives kisses, and is happiest when she’s close to her people. She rides beautifully in the car, walks well on a leash, and is mostly house-trained, improving each day. While she’s still a little unsure around other dogs, she’s shown she can live peacefully with cats and does wonderfully meeting new people. Mei would thrive as the center of your attention, where she can soak up all the love and attention she so deserves. With her gentle spirit, playful personality, and affectionate nature, Mei will make a loyal and joyful companion to the lucky family who welcomes her in. Like many humans, Mei has allergies and is on a special diet to help with this. She came to us a few months ago with no fur and in rough condition, but with medical care and good food she has turned into a beautiful girl!    Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. November 1, 2025, 8:25 pm

Story
Scooby is our longest resident, and that’s because he is really not meant to be a shelter dog but has a hard time convincing potential adopters of that. He is a sensitive dog who gets concerned about stressful things in his environment. He has come such a long way with his anxiety and nerves with us in the shelter but what he requires is stability and consistency. He was in a temporary foster for two weeks and during that time he showed so much growth as he finally had a chance to settle in as a house pet. After some decompression, we found he wasn’t destructive, played with toys and puzzles, snuggled up on the couch, and even had some nice car rides (with only a little whining). Even in the shelter he is a gentle, friendly boy who follows commands, waits patiently for volunteers to leash him in his kennel, and is easy to walk. Although sometimes he does get spooked and wants to go back inside. What Scooby needs is someone with patience and a willingness to build trust with him once they bring him home and who can work constructively with him on his anxiety needs. We have a trainer who will help the new adopter transition Scooby into his new home. Everyone who knows Scooby, loves him!NOT DOG-FRIENDLYNOT CAT-FRIENDLY

Story
Wendell came in as a stray picked up in Baldwinsville and weighs about 45 pounds. So far we’ve learned that Wendell loves treats, although he’s still mindful and gentle when taking them, and loves to play tug and hang out with people he’s familiar with. He still needs a little work on manners but is coming around to be a very sweet and respectful boy. DOG-FRIENDLY

Story
Meet Bogart, 7 year old handsome Bulldog mix rescued from a rural Louisiana Shelter.  He was very sick and transferred to Shreveport Vet for treatment of advanced heartworm which is now completed. Bogart is now in foster care in NY.  He loves, loves people and affection.  Bogart would do well with an active family that can provide him with shorter play times more often.  The only thing he loves as much as people is playing and being a big goofy boy.  He is strong and will require continued training to be his best self.  He is laid back and does well with dogs and gentle with kids.  If you would like to have Bogart join your family please fill out an adoption application.  His $200 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2410764##
