Story
Meet Bogart, 7 year old handsome Bulldog mix rescued from a rural Louisiana Shelter.  He was very sick and transferred to Shreveport Vet for treatment of advanced heartworm which is now completed. Bogart is now in foster care in NY.  He loves, loves people and affection.  Bogart would do well with an active family that can provide him with shorter play times more often.  The only thing he loves as much as people is playing and being a big goofy boy.  He is strong and will require continued training to be his best self.  He is laid back and does well with dogs and gentle with kids.  If you would like to have Bogart join your family please fill out an adoption application.  His $200 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2410764##

*****Please note, once you complete the initial screening, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*********** We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. **PENNY (Penelope)** — A Little Cartoon Character With a Whole Lot of Heart Penny is a 2-year old medium sized gal with short legs, a big personality, and the kind of charm that makes everyone smile. She is currently in Houston and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Her foster says she moves like a cartoon character, pouncing, bouncing, and zooming with her legs running faster than her body can keep up. She’s full of joy, sweetness, and silliness, and once she’s done entertaining everyone, she loves nothing more than curling up beside her person on the couch. Penny is affectionate in her own unique way, sometimes nudging her nose into your side before climbing her way right into your lap. She adores people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and brings a special type of warmth and humor to any room she walks into. Penny has wonderful social skills and enjoys playing with dogs both her size and much larger. She plays rough but listens well when corrected and respects another dog’s cues when they’ve had enough. She hasn’t lived with cats but has shown no interest when she’s encountered them. Penny hasn’t spent time with young children, and because of her strong, bouncy play style, she would do best in a home with kids ten and older. She is housebroken once she adjusts to a new routine, does well in a crate, and walks nicely on leash, preferring to wander and sniff rather than march in a straight line. She rides quietly in the car, eats comfortably around other dogs, and shares toys and space with no issues. Penny would thrive in a home that understands or appreciates bulldog breeds and all their wonderful quirks. She is energetic enough to enjoy playtime in the yard but settles beautifully afterward for long naps and cuddles. She snores loudly, breathes like many short-nosed breeds do, and occasionally gets winded after a big burst of activity. The vet has assured that these are typical traits for her breed, and her adopter should be ready to love her exactly as she is or explore surgical options if recommended by their own vet. Penny would enjoy having another dog in the home but would also do well as the center of someone’s world. Her foster describes her as playful, silly, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining—a dog who will make you laugh and then melt into your side like she was meant to be there all along. Penny is ready for a family who will appreciate her goofy heart, her loyal nature, and her big, bright spirit. She has so much love to give, and she can’t wait to share it with the person who sees just how special she truly is. If you are interested in adding this silly girl into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. **

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Mei is the kind of dog who bounces into your day with pure joy and a big smile that makes everything feel lighter. She is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a playful spark, the perfect mix of medium-high energy when the toys come out and soft cuddles when she’s ready to settle in. She is a natural comedian. Mei gives full body hugs, showers you with kisses and chases her toys with so much enthusiasm that she sometimes tosses them for herself. At about 2 years old and 45 pounds, she is a charming mystery mix with perky ears, a chocolate and tan coat and a stocky little frame that only adds to her character. She might have a hint of Doberman, maybe some Australian Kelpie and some Pit Bull Terrier. Mei already knows how to sit for a treat and she learns quickly. She is doing well with housetraining when kept on a routine and she trots happily into her crate for a treat, settling after a little whine. She loves to zoom around the yard and will play fetch for as long as you want. If you love watching a dog light up with pure joy, she is your girl. Mei does have food allergies and needs to stay on a hydrolyzed protein prescription diet. When she arrived she had no fur and was miserable, but with proper care she has blossomed into a shiny, happy pup. She will need to stay on her special diet to keep feeling her best. She gets along well with friendly, submissive dogs, seems neutral with cats and enjoys every person she meets. She rides well in the car and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. After a tough start in life, Mei is more than ready for the fairy tale ending she deserves. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information. Meet this dog at Petco on Saturday, Jan 3rd from 1-4 pm CST at Petco, 377 W. Jackson St #11 Cookeville, TN 38501.   Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. December 29, 2025, 2:44 pm
