Story
Hello from Texas. I’m a pretty white Bull Terrier mix named Lady. I’m about 2 years old, weigh 61 lbs, and I was found curled up in a ball during icy temperatures, freezing and starving on the side of a busy highway south of San Antonio, Texas. I weighed only 40 lbs and looked like I was at death's door, but fast forward 2 months, and I’m the picture of health: happy and pretty, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and ready to find my future! I am a friendly girl, good with humans, young and old, other dogs, and although I was curious to sniff a kitty cat, I did not chase it. I love playtime with other dogs, and I love running zoomies. I love dog toys, but prefer the hard chew bones like Nylabone/Benebone/Bam-Bones. If you are looking for an excellent doggy co-pilot for road trips, I sit nicely in the front passenger seat, just looking out the window with a smile on my face. I also love to explore and go for walks with a leash. Just a bit of leash pulling at first until we get underway, and then I walk very nicely. My foster mom says I am well-behaved and only bark when I need to alert you. I’m housebroken and know how to use a doggy door. I’m affectionate and enjoy being petted, but I don't require gobs of attention and can easily entertain myself with my chew bones while the family is away. I’m ready to meet you, so let's get this party started! East Coast people, inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tigger, a high-energy bull terrier and pit bull mix born in late 2015,  is the friendliest, most fun-loving little guy. He absolutely loves everyone he meets. While he especially loves children he is better suited to older kids, not little ones.  He likes to be king of his castle, so he should be the only pet in his home. And his home should be in a quiet suburb with a fenced yard where Tigger can play and burn off his energy. He loves his people so much, he needs them to be home a lot.  If you are an experienced dog owner who can give Tigger the forever home he's looking for, fill out an application at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoptionGiven technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:34 am

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Jupiter Breed: Carolina Dog Sex/Age/Weight: Female/6 years old/40lbs Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on preventatives. House trained/Crate trained: Yes and Yes. Her first experience with a crate was when she was with animal control, so she doesn't love being in one. Dogs/Cats: She has done well with male dogs, but has had personality issues with other females. She hasn't been cat tested, but can upon request. Energy Level: Her high energy side comes out when she wants to play. She will run and play tug-a-war with a maximum energy level, and she needs to play like this at least twice a day. But when she's done playing, she would love to just relax in the sunshine. Things that make me happy: Food and scratches, specifically butt scratches, and being with her human man. She loves her foster mom and is very protective of her, but she will always want to be a daddy’s girl. She is a terrible flirt and waits all day for an evening of snuggles with her foster dad. She loves her treats of raw carrots and green beans. She even knows the difference when given a choice and she will tell you which one she would prefer at that moment. And if you take the time to scratch her bum she will reward you by loudly purring. Things that make my humans happy: She is so smart. She knows how to give a high five, a regular five, and a double five aka a ten. She also knows No, Sit, and Speak and is working on lying down. She sticks to her schedule of eating and going to the bathroom outside, so as long as her human is consistent all will be well. Working on: Jupiter is still a bit wild when playing. She is not aggressive, but she doesn't always understand that humans don’t play the same way as dogs. She needs someone who can handle a dog who uses her mouth when playing. She won't bite hard, but there could be the occasional nip when your hand is too close to her end of her tug rope. She is also built like a furry little tank and she may jump on you when playing (she doesn't jump otherwise) and you’ll feel her compact weight and her nails. Before FAR: Jupiter lived her first two years on her own as a stray until she was picked up by animal services and was rescued by Furever After Rescue just in time to avoid being euthanized. She was likely never a domestic dog before she was rescued. She doesn't show any signs of having been mistreated by humans, but she will always be skittish around and wary of people. Special Notes: Jupiter is slightly skittish from having been on her own originally. She prefers the flight instead of fight reaction as her first instinct and will need her own special place to retreat to when she gets scared. She wants someone who will be patient with her and let her explore and understand what is expected of her. Ideal Family/Home: Because of her size and background, she wouldn’t be right in a household with younger children. She really needs a family that will be able to give her the love and attention she needs. She will want to sleep in the bed with you where she's not shy about being a bed hog, but she repays with sweet cuddles. She's good on a leash and loves a good walk, but not a long one, so she will need daily exercise through lots of playing. She would not be good in a home where her parents are gone 40+ hours a week. She is a special dog and needs a family that can appreciate her uniqueness. Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Sheba Age/Sex/Weight: 6 years old/Female/37lbs Breed: Bull Terrier Mix Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. House trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Before FAR: I was found as a pregnant stray. Luckily for me the rescue took me in, helped me have my babies and got them all adopted. Now I'm waiting for my Furever home! Energy Level: Medium. Things that make me happy: Humans, being the center of attention and getting lots of love and cuddles, walks, any time food comes out. Things that make my humans happy: When I'm sweet and affectionate, when I run around in circles when food comes out or when it's time to go on a walk. Working on: Laying down on command (I know sit stay, shake and high five already!); Being calm and not reactive around other dogs I don't know. Dogs: I can be a bit selective, and need a dog that will accept me as "the boss" Cats: No Ideal Family/Home: I would do best in a single dog home that is able to give me plenty of love and attention. Older children or no children at all would be best (I do love all kids though!). Because I tend to be reactive round other dogs I don't know or that also have dominant personalities, I need someone that is able to help me learn how to stay calm in these situations. I love my humans and am very loyal to them so would love to find a family that is the same with me! I'm ready to meet you and find my Furever home!
