Harold is located in MO! Harold has been with us in foster care for about a year, and to know him is to love him. We originally began boarding him, and after seeing how well he does with consistency and routine, we knew keeping that stability in his life was important while he waits for the right home. He is a big, strong Bull Terrier with an even bigger personality. Harold can be shy when he first meets someone, but once he gets comfortable, his funny, affectionate side really starts to come out. He is eager to please and has been working hard on his training. He can occasionally be a little rough without meaning to be — he is simply a big guy with big emotions and a lot of enthusiasm. Harold enjoys his toys, but he isn't destructive with them. In fact, he usually keeps a little collection of about six toys in his kennel with him, right alongside his favorite pile of blankets. One of our favorite things about Harold is how much he loves watching TV and movies. His favorite show is Lucas the Spider, and he will happily settle in to watch with you. He does have opinions about what is on, though scary movies and sad or dramatic cartoon scenes are not for him. Harold prefers his entertainment happy and lighthearted! Routine is very important to Harold. Once he learns a new routine, he does amazingly well with it. Structure, consistency, and clear expectations help him settle in and feel comfortable, which is when you really get to see the wonderful dog we have come to know. Harold needs to be the only pet in his home. We are also looking for a quieter, more rural setting for him rather than a busy city or suburban environment. His ideal adopter will be comfortable with a large, strong Bull Terrier and willing to continue giving him the structure and guidance that help him thrive. Harold may need a more specific home than some dogs, but we know the right home is out there. For someone who can give him the environment he needs, he will bring an incredible amount of personality, laughter, and companionship. We would love nothing more than to see this special guy finally find his person.

I'm in IL: Yetti Update Let’s clear something up right away — Yetti is not a lazy couch potato 😂 He’s middle-aged (we’re guessing somewhere in the 4–6 range until the vet confirms), but he’s active, engaged, and very toy motivated. He enjoys his playtime and is absolutely not destructive. He was left loose in the basement for a supervised 20-minute test and did nothing but calmly explore and play with his toys. No chaos. No destruction. Just Yetti being a good boy. He’s doing well around the resident crew. They can play near him and he doesn’t escalate. Even when one if the dogs got right in his face with a favorite ball, Yetti handled it appropriately. The key is respectful dogs — dogs that know how to back off when warned. That’s the kind of dynamic he does well with. Now, certain combinations would not be a good match —if the dogs are too similar and too intense with toys. That’s not a flaw; it’s just knowing personalities. Toy-loving dogs can absolutely coexist, as long as there’s structure and mutual respect. Bottom line: Yetti is not a couch ornament. He’s an engaged, toy-loving, middle-aged gentleman who needs structure, appropriate dog matches, and a home that understands how to manage play respectfully. And he’s settling in more each day.

Tyson is a mixed breed; our best guess is a pit terrier and a Boxer mix, but we cannot guarantee it. He is about 4-5 months old and currently 30 pounds. He was found in a box as a tiny baby, and we weren't sure he would make it to the next day. He looked so bad and defeated, and look what love can do. He is with the foster who found him in Texas, waiting for his forever home! In the meantime, he will visit the vet and get ready to come to the NJ area when adopted. He plays with the other dogs in the foster house, sleeps after dinner in his crate, wakes up at 11 to drink, plays a bit, and goes back to sleep until 6 am, when he lets everyone know it's time to get out of the crate and start the day. He loves snacks, plays with his toys, and loves his bed. He is friendly with the other dogs and humans and has no issues with cats or people.
