Story
Age: 6 years old Gender: Male Breed: Bull Mastiff mix Weight: 84 lbs Personality: Very sweet and cuddly! He is very pleasant to walk if there are no other dogs in the area. He is learning to be more confident and less reactive. Education: Good with bathroom and leash training and is working on leash reactivity Favorite Activities: Tug of war, long night walks, hanging out in the kitchen Looking for: An active family who will love him and play with him! Some patient training will help him be the best boy ever! He will do best as an only dog right now. Hippo likes routine so someone who can create some structure for him would be ideal to help with his anxiety! A family with kids would be good, too - he has been great with kids of all ages, even with toddlers! A home with a backyard in a quiet neighborhood would be great! Special needs: Current medication to help with separation anxiety Prozac (fluoxetine) (~$5.00). Monthly cost depending on where purchased and market value. Adoption Fee: $ 250 ##1733826##

Story
Personality: Very sweet and cuddly with people! Hippo is very pleasant to walk if there are no other dogs in the area. He is learning to be more confident and less reactive. He likes routine so someone that can create some structure for him would be ideal because it helps his anxiety. He is a medium energy dog and is good with a couple of walks a day. Education: Good with bathroom and leash training and is working on leash reactivity: he pulls and lunges when he sees another dog so he needs a strong handler. He has moderate separation anxiety but does fine crated 8 hrs. while foster is at work. Favorite Activities: Tug of war, long night walks, hanging out in the kitchen Looking For: A family who will love him and play with him! Some patient training will help him be the best boy ever! He will do best as an only dog right now. Hippo likes routine so someone who can create some structure for him would be ideal to help with his anxiety! A family with kids would be good, too - he has been great with kids of all ages, even with toddlers! A home with a backyard in a quiet neighborhood would be great, but he will also do fine in an apartment with a couple of walks a day! Someone that is not gone long hours would be ideal. Special Needs/Concerns: Current medication to help with separation anxiety is Prozac (fluoxetine) (~$5.00). Monthly cost depending on where purchased and market value. Bio: Your Gentle Giant Looking for Love! Hello there, I’m Hippo, a Bull Mastiff mix, a big boy at 87 lbs, and am neutered. I was pulled from the Riverside shelter by TAP and I am so grateful for that! I have picked up bathroom manners, working on leash manners. I take Prozac to help with my moderate separation anxiety. I might bark or cry when you leave but will settle down in a crate after 20-30 minutes. I may look imposing at first glance, but once you get to know me, you’ll see I’m the sweetest and most lovable companion you could ever ask for. I love affection, and snuggling up next to my humans is one of my favorite pastimes. I am good with kids of all ages and would be great as a family dog! When I’m inside the house, I sometimes get a bit anxious and bark at people passing by, but don’t worry – once we’re outside, I’ll mostly be an observer, calmly taking in the world around me. I can show some leash reactivity though. With some patience, understanding, and positive reinforcement training, I’m sure I can overcome this behavior. I adore outdoor adventures and walks, but I can get a little distracted if there’s too much going on around me. I find night walks with minimal distractions to be the best for me. That way, I can focus on our quality time together without getting overwhelmed by everything happening around us. One of my quirks is that I like to playfully bite ankles and wrists when I want to wake you up or just engage in some playtime. I promise it’s all in good fun! But for this reason, a family with older kids or adults might be a better fit for me. I would absolutely love a fun-loving home in a quiet neighborhood with a securely fenced yard! Having a safe and secure place to play and explore would make me one happy pup! I’m quite adaptable, so whether you lead an active lifestyle or prefer a more laid-back approach, I’ll fit right in. Just as long as I get plenty of love and attention, I’ll be content. So, are you ready to open your heart and home to a gentle giant like me? I guarantee that with a little understanding, patience, and love, I’ll be the most loyal and loving companion you could ever wish for. Let’s embark on this incredible journey together, creating unforgettable memories and forging an unbreakable bond. My adoption includes my spay, vaccinations, and microchip. If you’d like to meet me, please apply!

Story
Personality: Sweet medium energy girl who loves people and is always ready to snuggle with her humans! She doesn't have any separation anxiety and can be left at home for a few hours without any issues! Education: Bathroom trained and working on her leash skills. Favorite Activities: Spending time with her people and snuggling with them! She also enjoys walking and running around in the backyard and chilling afterwards. Looking For: This beautiful girl would love to find a loving home, preferably with a yard. She hopes to find someone willing to help her get better with her leash skills and leash reactivity. Eileen loves people and will be great with older kids! Special Needs/Concerns: Tripod but that doesn't slow her down! Bio: Come On, Eileen — and Fall in Love with Me! Hi there, I’m Eileen — and yes, like the song says, “Come on, Eileen!” Because once you meet me, you’ll be singing along with my sweet, snuggly, soulful vibe in no time. I’m a 3-year-old, 66-pound Bullmastiff mix with a heart as big as my paws. I might be a tripod, but trust me — it’s not slowing me down! I love to trot alongside my favorite people, zoom around the yard, or curl up close for a movie night cuddle. I’ve got that perfect medium energy: up for a walk, down for a nap, always ready for love. My journey hasn’t been easy — I was rescued from a homeless encampment by the legendary Babs in San Diego, and I’ve come a long way since then. These days, I’m fully house-trained, working hard on my leash skills, and rocking my muzzle when I need to. I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m still deciding how I feel about crates. Now, full transparency: I do have some leash reactivity toward other dogs. I’m fear-based dog reactive, which means I need continued support, training, and patience from someone committed to helping me feel safe and confident on walks. But with time and the right match, I think I can even make a doggy friend someday. I haven’t met any cats yet, so that’s still a mystery, but I’m all love when it comes to people! I’d do best in a mellow home with a yard, ideally somewhere a little quieter and less crowded than downtown San Diego. I love walks and being outside, but I also thrive in calm environments where I can focus on my favorite thing: YOU. I’m sweet as can be, always down for a snuggle, and just waiting for someone to see past my challenges and fall in love with the truly loyal, loving companion I am. So… come on, Eileen? I’m ready when you are! My adoption fee includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please apply!
