Look out! Here comes Apricot! He was found in a vehicle’s engine in a busy downtown area by the vehicle owner’s dog, Percy. Percy would not get into the vehicle and kept barking and pulling on his leash at the front of the car. The owner looked under the car, checked the tires, finally popped the hood and there was Apricot, meowing up a storm. He was almost named Suburban but Apricot, to agree with his orange, won the naming contest. Apricot was lonely and scared but has adjusted to his new, cozy life in the home of a foster with numerous kitties to help guide and comfort him during this transition. He has settled in very well and is bonded with his new friend, Burrito. When he is not sleeping on top of the warm laundry pile, he is helping fold the laundry. It’s not working out very well. He unfolds more than the folds, by a lot. He also likes to sleep on top of the mail, often eating the bills, which I don’t object to. I just wish he would pay them instead. Apricot has been such a joy to my life. Kiki is a sweet boy of three years old. This pet was the pet of an older gentleman who had rescued him and took great care of him. His owner is in the hospital and will not be able to live on his own again in an environment where he can have a cat. So, I am his neighbor who along with his brother in CA, are working to rehome Kiki to a new home. He likes to play and is affectionate once he feels comfortable with someone, but he warms up quickly.
