Story
Nikita, Nickie for short, is a lovely Russian Blue mix female born approximately 10/11/2021. Hi, I’m Nickie, a shy but sweet girl who has spent several years in foster care, waiting for the right person to give me a chance. I’ve been in a multi-cat foster home, which has made it hard for me to feel safe and learn how to trust my surroundings. I’m brave enough to come out for treats when I hear my name, but I quickly scarf them down, always keeping my eyes and ears on high alert. I often have to run off before I can even finish, as the other cats sometimes make me feel scared. I once had a foster brother who was my friend, but he’s gone to live with an elderly gentleman now. I miss him, but I think I’d really flourish as the only kitty in a calm and peaceful home where I don’t have to worry about other cats. I would love to know what it feels like to truly relax and trust my environment. My foster mom tells me I could be so happy and thrive if I could just learn to trust, and I know the right person could help me do that. I’m super sweet and I do enjoy playing when I get the chance, though I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like. I know I could be the loving, playful companion you've been looking for if only someone would give me the chance. My foster mom believes in me, and she thinks I could thrive with the right family. Will you be the one to show me what it feels like to be loved and cherished, and to help me finally feel at home? Please consider taking a chance on me. I’m ready to trust and love again with someone who will be patient and kind. Nickie is microchipped and currently in a foster home. Her adoption fee is $105.June 7, 2025, 10:40 am

Story
Jax is a handsome senior black Bombay/DSH gentleman that was born approximately 06/07/2013. He has gorgeous golden eyes.  Jax was rescued with his sister, Rowen, from a local neighborhood when he was a kitten. Through NBCR, they were adopted into a loving home and lived together happily for over 10 years. Sadly,  Rowen has passed away and their human mom has recently moved into a full-time memory care living facility. As you can imagine, this has been a very stressful time for him, but once he was returned to us and got some much needed TLC, he has bounced right back. We hope to find him another loving home in which to live out his remaining golden years. Jax is the most loving, sweet boy! Although he is a senior, he plays like a kitten. He is curious and, literally, the sweetest boy his foster mom has ever met! He LOVES to chase the laser light and to play with his toys. He also loves to watch the birds and squirrels outside the window. He likes scratchers, but seems to favor the cheaper cardboard ones. He uses the litter box and has never had any accidents. When Jax came to us he didn't have many teeth, but that doesn't bother him at all. He is on a wet food diet and the vet says that's good since he needs to lose at least a pound! Added benefit - no unpleasant dental cleanings required! Jax purrs non-stop when he is around you and demands pets. He doesn't seem to be a fan of dogs. His foster mom does not know how he would be with other cats. He does still scare easily, but if you can make him feel safe, he will be your best friend and warm very quickly. His foster mom says he is the perfect pet!  Jax is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.June 12, 2025, 6:43 pm
