Meet Sandy — a 3-year-old, 30-pound Cairn Terrier mix with the perfect blend of sweetness, smarts, and snuggly energy. 💛 Sandy is one of those rare “easy button” dogs who seems to fit in just about anywhere. She’s great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and she already comes with all the good habits you’d hope for: she’s crate trained, wonderful in the car, walks beautifully on leash, and politely heads to the door when she needs to go out. Potty training? Nailed it. Her one “special skill”? Jumping. Like… really jumping. This little spring-loaded cutie can launch herself sky-high, so she’ll need either a taller fence or a vigilant on-leash routine in the yard. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. His teeth are white and clean as his adult teeth haven’t been in too long. He is good on a leash and bigger than the other two at 15 pounds. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would probably look Schnauzer if he had the cut. His coat is a little course and not as soft as the schnauzer coat. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one or two person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200.
