Story
-Meet Travis, a 2-year-old, 11-pound Cairn Terrier mix with a soft spirit and a quiet kind of charm that slowly works its way into your heart. Travis didn’t always know kindness, and while we may never know his full story, it’s clear he’s chosen to move forward with nothing but hope. Each day, he shows a little more trust, a little more confidence, and a lot more of the sweet soul he truly is. In his foster home, Travis has discovered the simple joys of being a dog. He loves a good play session with his foster mom’s Yorkies—gentle wrestling, playful romps—and then happily settles in for a cozy nap. Around the house, he’s a quiet, easy presence, content to just be near you. He’s still learning that human hands can be safe and loving, and he’s making beautiful progress. Even when unsure, Travis has shown incredible patience and kindness, never reacting with fear or snapping—even during his very first bath and grooming experience, which he handled like a little gentleman. With good meals, healthy snacks, and regular exercise, he’s gaining strength and confidence every day. His blond and copperish hued coat and soft white mane only add to his gentle, soulful look. Travis would best thrive in a calm, low-noise home with one or two adults who will give him the time and space he needs to fully blossom. A fenced yard where he can safely explore and sniff would be his happy place. This sweet, shy boy is ready for a quiet life filled with patience, understanding, and love. In return, he will become a deeply devoted companion—the kind that bonds in the most meaningful way. If you feel you might be the right match for Travis, please email ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an application.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 31, 2026, 4:37 pm

Story
Are you looking for a new shadow to follow your every move and a professional snuggler to warm your lap? Meet Professor Snout, the charming pup who’s officially decided that humans are the best invention since peanut butter! Class is in session, and the topic of the day is how to fall head over heels for the smartest boy in school! Meet Professor, the scholarly sweetheart who is ready to graduate from the rescue and move straight into your heart. Check out his Ph.D. (Pretty Handsome Dog)! Watch Professor’s video here and see why everyone loves him. https://youtu.be/v6RBCmfo6HM Professor isn’t just a dog; he’s a dedicated companion who believes his true calling in life is being your personal teaching assistant. While other dogs are busy chasing balls, he’s busy making sure you know just how much he adores you! He is the ultimate "velcro dog" who would much rather lean into your legs for a scratch than worry about what’s happening across the playground. If you’ve been looking for a calm, hang-out buddy who values quality time and intellectual lounging above all else, you’ve just found your match. Looking at that adorable scruffy coat, we think Professor is a delightful Cairn Terrier mix! He is a sturdy 25 pound fellow, weighing in at a very manageable size that makes him easy to take with you to any "off-campus" errands. As with any rescue, his true breed heritage is always a bit of a guess, but we’re certain he’s 100% Distinguished Gentleman. Professor is absolutely thriving in his foster home and is proving to be a star when it comes to house manners! He is already potty and crate trained, making him the easiest house guest you could ask for. He’s a total couch potato at heart he can hop up onto the sofa with the grace of a gazelle just to find the perfect spot on your lap. He’s a pro on the leash and is always ready for a car ride to the local bookstore or coffee shop. When it comes to other dogs, Professor is the definition of "chill." He’s a total socialite who gets along with everyone in the student body, from the tiniest pups to the big dogs on campus! He’s a total gentleman who is happy to share his space and even his treats without a second thought. While he’d be happy as the only one getting all the spoils, and claiming your lap as his favorite nap place. He’d also thrive with a roommate to play here and there with. Whether he's flying solo or joining a pack, he’s guaranteed to be the most popular guy in the neighborhood! Professor is cat friendly! He’s a peaceful soul who doesn't have time for kitty chasing when there’s love to be given. He would be a wonderful addition to a home that already has a cat friend for him to lounge with! The best part about this sweet guy? He’s incredibly adaptable! Whether you live in a house with a big yard or a cozy city apartment, Professor is going to thrive as long as you’re there to provide the cuddles. He’s a lap dog in a scruffy body who just wants to be wherever his favorite humans are. He’s the type of dog who will make a tiny studio feel like a grand library just by being in it. Story
Welcome Boscoe to CCPAL Rescue. Boscoe is a 2-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is a lower energy and a little shy. His teeth are white and clean as his adult teeth haven’t been in too long. He is good on a leash and bigger than the other two at 15 pounds. He has nice long legs so he would be a great walking companion. He is very content being beside someone and doesn’t have to be in your lap. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would probably look Schnauzer if he had the cut. His coat is a little course and not as soft as the schnauzer coat. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one or two person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
