Story
This sweet little girl is Grace, aka Gracie - a 2 year old, 12 pound, suspected Cairn Terrier mix who is initially shy. Gracie loves, loves, loves to give you kisses, so if you don’t like that, she’s not the dog for you. Gracie came all the way from Mexico to be with us; she was a street dog who was saved by a small local rescue in Mexico that we work with to bring dogs here periodically. Gracie is very good with other dogs and seeks them out for naps and play; she takes comfort from the other dogs which has helped her in her adjustment during fostering so her having another dog in the adoptive home is essential for success. It is important to note that because of Gracie’s previous life, she needs a securely fenced yard because she walks very poorly on a leash – flattens to the ground - so a fenced-in yard is a must for her for toileting and exercise. Gracie does not require crating in the home; she has not been destructive in any way, even when her foster mom is gone a full work day. Gracie is housebroken to a fenced back yard; if her foster mom is going to be gone 10 hours due to work, she will put down pee pads for Gracie just in case. Gracie gets along well with other small dogs, doing best with other dogs who are calmer and respectful of her personal space. Gracie gets very excited for her meals - and the other dogs’ meals - so she’s fed inside her crate. This wonderful dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided inoculations, dewormed, tested for diseases and parasites, been spayed, and microchipped.
