Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Opal is a purebred Cairn Terrier who has recently retired from a commercial breeding facility and is seeking a loving, forever home. As she is still learning the ropes of living indoors, house training, etc.the ideal home for Opal will have someone home a lot, or a family with rotating schedules, to keep her on a routine and consistent potty schedule. As she is still shy and frightened by loud noises and sudden movements, a calm environment will help her to gain confidence. She is still not bold enough to walk, or potty while on a leash, a securely fenced yard will be required in addition to a resident dog for companionship and to model appropriate canine behavior. Opal enjoys being part of a pack and included in family activities.  She is thriving with routine and structure, but being nearby is what she wants most.  She loves squeaky toys over the harder material ones and will wear them out.   The suggested adoption donation for Opal is a minimum of $500 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
Welcome to rescue, Mimi! Mimi is a Terrier mix, born February 2025.  She will be your shadow and follow you around the house.  MImi loves to be outside and help with yard work!  This girl has athletic ability and can scale a 4' chainlink fence with no problem.  She definitely needs a secure 6' privacy fence to keep her safe in the yard.  She loves playing with toys and enjoys playing with other dogs and cats.  Mimi needs someone who would love to go on occasional walks and she is ready for whatever training her new family can offer.  Mimi would do best if her person is home most of the time or only gone for short periods of time.  Her foster mom does not kennel her when she's left alone and Mimi has not been destructive in the house. Mimi is a parvo survivor and is now parvo free.  She is defnitely ready for her next chapter in her furever home!     The suggested adoption donation for Mimi is $465, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2443180##
