It’s hard to imagine how a tiny, loving soul like Lil Frankie Boy—a Cairn Terrier/Brussels Griffon mix—ended up wandering alone down a neighborhood street, only for his owners to simply say, “just take him.” Thankfully, a kind young couple couldn’t turn away and stepped in to help, reaching out to Critter Cavalry Rescue, who welcomed him with open arms. From the moment he arrived, it was clear this little guy is something truly special. At just a year old and under 10 pounds, Frankie is the perfect blend of adorable and intelligent. He has a bright, expressive nature and carries himself with that charming, alert curiosity that makes you feel like he understands everything around him. He gets along beautifully with other small dogs, walks nicely on a leash, and seems to carry a quiet joy wherever he goes. Whether he’s happily trotting by your side or curled up close soaking in affection, Frankie is all about connection. He loves to snuggle, give sweet kisses, and simply be near his people. There’s something incredibly comforting about his presence—like he knows just how to make a house feel like home. Frankie’s story could have ended very differently, but now he has the chance he always deserved—a loving, committed forever family. Ella is the sweetest girl ever! She's a 1-year-old, 30-pound Cairn Terrier mix with a scruffy tan coat and a loving personality. Although she might be a bit shy at first, she soon relaxes and settles into a calm life with playful dogs. She prefers not to be around rambunctious ones which usually reflect a more active lifestyle than she likes. But she's no couch potato which you'll quickly see as she climbs up a wired fence! A delightful girl! Meet Oliver! Oliver is a 6 year old male Cairn Terrier. This animal is coming up on a transport to the NYC Area Friday, 4/10 and is looking for a foster home to go into. There are multiple shelters down south that are overcrowded and Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue partners with these shelters to move the animals into foster homes in the North East before they are adopted into their forever family homes. What does it mean to be a foster? The first, and most important, responsibility is to provide a caring and safe home environment. There are some very specific guidelines that we will share with you that will keep everyone safe and healthy. From basic food and water, quarantine periods, and where you can or cannot take your foster, our Foster Handbook and Foster Mentors are fantastic resources. Depending on what type of animal you’re fostering, you’ll need some things in advance.
