Story
Roki Scruff and Shenanigans looks like a loofah with eyebrows, and somehow that is a very handsome look. Add a beard, a mustache, and a whole lot of confidence, and you have Roki—a scruffy little character who brings the fun, then scoots in close for the scritchy-scratchy moments he looks forward to all day! Go watch Roki on YouTube to see that glorious scruff in motion, catch a little of his terrier personality, and watch how happily he soaks up affection. Copy and paste the link into yur browser to see more! https://youtu.be/pgV1_k_TCEY Roki is estimated to be about a year old, and we’re guessing a Cairn Terrier mix, possibly with some Schnauzer in there. His age and breed are our best guesses, but the beard is a pretty scientific clue. His rough coat and fluffy eyebrows give him a wonderfully expressive face, perfectly suited to the personality underneath. This boy loves being loved on. Booty scratches, belly rubs, hands working their way through all that scruff—yes, please! He’ll crawl up beside you and politely ask for a little attention, then happily settle into whatever affection you have available. For a boy with so much gumption, he has a very sweet way of getting close to make a connection. Roki is young, energetic, and ready to put some fun on the calendar. Walks, playtime, and opportunities to explore would suit him beautifully. He brings that familiar terrier confidence to meeting other dogs, too. He’s happy to introduce himself and has his own ideas about how the games should go, usually involving a good chase. A playful, easygoing dog who enjoys chase games and appreciates a friend with a little sass could be a lovely match. Roki would also be happy as an only dog, with his people providing the adventures and affection. A cat-free home is his best fit, thanks to that love of chase, cats feel strongly they are not the right company for his enthusiasm. When it’s time to rest, Roki has shown us that the setup matters. He has done well spending quiet time in a roomy, comfortably contained space with a little couch of his own. A crate currently gets more commentary from him, so a home with flexibility to use a cozy room or another suitable space would be a great starting point. Apartment living would need careful consideration, especially if the plan involves extended daytime crating. His success in a larger space is encouraging, and his family can build on that as he settles into home life. Roki brings the fun, a lot of affection, and a face you’ll want approximately 400 pictures of. If your idea of good company has a scruffy beard, enjoys a lively game, and happily backs up for booty scratches, this boy deserves a spot on your couch and forever in your heart. Story
Someday Gouda Little Gooda will be running through a yard, carrying toys around the house, and showing his family exactly what kind of dog he was meant to become. But right now? His whole world is much smaller. It’s the warmth of his littermates beside him, a full little belly, and finding the coziest spot for his next nap. Gouda Little Gooda is two months old and still at the very beginning of his story. He’s too young for us to know exactly what his personality will be like, and we don’t want to guess. Those little pieces of Gouda Little Gooda will start revealing themselves as he grows. For now, he’s spending these important early weeks alongside his littermates, Cream Dream Supreme, Cheddar Little Charmer, and Butter Believe It. His days are mostly about eating, sleeping, staying warm, and growing a little bit more. Before long, those sleepy newborn days will turn into wobbly steps, puppy play, toys, exploring, and probably a little mischief. His future family will eventually get to discover his favorite things, laugh at the funny habits he develops, teach him everything a young puppy needs to know, and watch him grow from this tiny baby into a dog with a personality all his own. There are so many parts of Gouda Little Gooda’s story that haven’t happened yet. Somewhere along the way will be the day he meets the family who gets to become part of it. If you think Gouda Little Gooda is amazing you should check out his profile and adopt! Questions? Story
Butter Believe It doesn’t know it yet, but there are a whole lot of good things waiting for her. There are toys she hasn’t discovered, grass she hasn’t run through, treats she hasn’t tasted, and people she hasn’t met yet who may someday wonder how their home ever felt complete without her. For now, Butter Believe It is a newborn baby girl, and her world is exactly as small and cozy as it should be. Her days are spent eating, sleeping, staying warm, and growing alongside her littermates, Gouda Little Gooda, Cream Dream Supreme, and Cheddar Little Charmer. We don’t know yet whether Butter Believe It will grow into the adventurous puppy who wants to investigate everything, the silly one who keeps everyone laughing, or the one who always finds the best place to curl up for a nap. She’s still too little to tell us, and we’re happy to let her show us when she’s ready. Over the next several weeks, Butter Believe It will start experiencing so many firsts. Her world will get bigger, her personality will begin showing itself, and we’ll start learning all the little things that make her different from her siblings. Eventually, one of those firsts will be finding a family of her own. They’ll get to experience everything that comes with raising a young puppy and watch this tiny little girl grow into a dog with a personality and story that are completely hers. Butter Believe It has a whole life ahead of her. Right now, though, she has some very important growing and sleeping to do. If you think Butter Believe It is amazing you should check out her profile and adopt! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a848deb0cbd78ba070bbf0b Questions? Story
Who doesn't love a Hash Brown! The newest member of our Breakfast Club, meet Darling Hash Brown! We believe Hash Brown to be a Cairn Terrier mix, he is about 8 months old and so deserving of a fresh start. Hash Brown came to us from our rescue partners over the Cascades, as they knew we would find him just the perfect spot. Little HB was rescued from a situation where he was found on a short, very heavy chain and left outside....an absolutely awful place for a tiny terrier with a heart of gold. Due to Hash Browns former living situation it takes him a minute to trust men, but he gets there! He is affectionate, sweet, funny and friendly once comfortable. He will need a patient and caring adopter to help him be his best self. Ongoing training will give Hash Brown the confidence and skills he needs to live his best life. HB came to us looking cute at a distance, but up close we could see how matted his fur was - to the skin. A bath and some grooming and this adorable pup is looking good and ready to find his forever. Out little Hash Brown has received updated vaccinations, a Microchip and will be neutered by our Vet very soon included in his adoption donation.

Story
Meet Mari! Mari is a female Cairn Terrier mix who can’t wait to find her new forever home. Weighing a petite18 lbs, Mari is gentle, sweet, and loving. She is approximately 5 years old. She is spayed, and up to date on her shots. Cairn Terriers are known for their charming, spirited, and bold personalities. Mari is both playful and affectionate. She is a good fit if you appreciate liveliness and snuggling.  She has plenty of energy and loves to play, making her a joy for families and active individuals.  Cairn Terriers are intelligent and can seem stubborn. She is smart and learns quickly. She can also be a bit independent-minded. Consistent training is key!  What makes Mari wonderful is her curious and adventurous attitude. Her inquisitive nature makes her a natural explorer. Mari is loyal and she likes to form strong bonds with her family.  She likes to stay close and always knows where home is. One of Mari’s favorite pastimes is a good snooze on cozy dog beds or comfy blankets.  She doesn’t mind sleeping with little disturbances in her own space. She can happily sleep in her own room and prefers her own bed.  Mari enjoys a good brushing, and it relaxes her instantly.   Despite Mari’s small size, she has a big, fearless attitude which is common in Cairn Terriers.   Mari is brave and confident. She often thinks of herself as much larger than she is. She’s good with other dogs in the dog park. However, she is known to dominate other dogs who look like her.  She also enjoys some time in front of the mirror and appreciates her reflection.  Because of Mari’s dominant nature, she can be a bit leash reactive.   She is fine with other dogs when her leash is not attached but will become more assertive if she is near another dog while on her leash.   Mari loves tasty treats and will hold off on her scheduled meals in hopes of something worthy of her palate.  Mari does not have accidents inside. However, be watchful for the first five nights as she is sorting out her surroundings.   Mari is perfect for someone who enjoys an energetic, snuggly, and entertaining companion. Mari is not suitable for a home with smaller children. She likes her space at times and prefers a more calm setting. She is not suited for a home with cats or other small critters. Her adoption fee is $450   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Welcome Hannah to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 5-pound small Terrier/Cairn mixed pup. Her mom is Monica. She was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Hannah is the most fluffy puppy in the rescue and she has slightly longer legs. This will make her a nice walking companion. Her coat is soft and thick. She is a fun pup to pet because of her coat. She is full of personality and very good with her litter group. She goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. She likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. We do think Hannah will be 15 pounds or less full grown. She is not a big shedder. She will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day every day because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. She needs to finish up her puppy training. She will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. She would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. She would be fine with other dogs. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is getting spayed, vaccinated and she will be ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video
