Story
Our Benson Boone may not be selling out arenas anytime soon, but he does have the hair, the name and a certain sensitive-guy quality working heavily in his favor. At about 20 pounds, Benson is a scruffy little sweetheart with low-key energy, gentle manners and a growing suspicion that being somebody’s lap dog might actually be an excellent career move. Go watch Benson Boone on YouTube in “Benson Boone | Scruffy, Sweet & Finding His Confidence” and meet the little guy behind the famous name. He may be taking life at a quieter pace than his namesake, but we think that suits him just fine. https://youtu.be/PALhwqc4atw At an estimated two and a half years old and about 20 pounds, Benson is a perfectly manageable little companion. We believe he may be a Cairn Terrier/Schnauzer mix, but with rescue dogs, breed is always our best guess. What we don't have to guess about is his energy level. Benson is decidedly on the low-key side. He is not looking for someone to fill his calendar with adventures. A comfortable home, some easy walks, a predictable routine and a person he can slowly become attached to sounds perfectly his speed. He already has the beginnings of leash walking down and responds nicely to guidance, although he still needs practice learning how to walk with his person instead of occasionally orbiting them. He takes treats gently and walks easily into his kennel. We could see suburban home life working well for Benson with a family willing to give him a little patience as he gets comfortable with his walking routine and surroundings. Other dogs are an area where Benson is still building confidence. He appears to be undersocialized rather than particularly interested in conflict. Smaller dogs make much more sense to him, and he has successfully spent time around other dogs while mostly choosing to roam and keep to himself. Bigger or more persistent dogs can make him nervous, and when he has had enough, he prefers to create distance. A calm small or medium-sized dog who understands personal space could be a nice match, or Benson could be perfectly happy soaking up the quieter life without a canine social calendar. He will pass on a wrestling partner, easy companions only please. His ideal fit is a dog that enjoys co-existing and doesn’t mind waiting a bit for the first true-blue play sessions. He showed a similarly cautious, uninterested approach when he met our house cat. He wasn't looking to chase or engage, but because he was still nervous during the interaction, we would want any feline match to be thoughtful. A calm, dog-savvy cat and a proper introduction would make the most sense. The sweetest part of Benson is that everyday a little bit more of his loving, sweet, silly nature emerge. He may not barrel into a new person's arms, but Benson is a little dog who wants connection. He accepts affection, gently takes what you offer him and is beginning to discover that laps are actually pretty excellent places to be. He isnt looking to go on-tour, he is simply looking for love. For someone drawn to the quieter dogs Benson Boone has an awful lot to offer! He is a sweet, scruffy (before) little companion looking for a low-key life and a person willing to let the relationship unfold at his pace. Give him that, and we know his favorite place will be wherever you are! Story
Welcome Sean to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 5-pound small Terrier/Cairn mixed pup. His mom is Monica. Monica was on the street as a stray. We took her in to find out she was pregnant. The puppies were born in our Rescue. They have gotten lots of interaction. They are very social and friendly. Sean is one of the middle sized boy pups. He has a fluffy coat but not as fluffy as his sister Hannah. He is cute and has the most adorable expressions. He likes being held and is very trusting of all people. He should be 10 to 12 pounds is our best guess full grown. He should be small enough to take with you in a doggy sling or bag. He is a fun pup to pet because of his coat. He is full of personality and very good with his litter group. He goes on a wee pad and is good in a crate. He likes all people and is not shy around strangers. Her mom is 15 pounds. Our guess would be 10 to 12 for him. He is not a big shedder. He will make some lucky family a good pet. Anyone who adopts a puppy should not work all day every day because a puppy needs to be with their family and not home alone all day. He needs to finish up his puppy training. He will be a great dog for a social person wanting a matching puppy personality. He would be fine in a smaller condo size yard. He would be fine with other dogs. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting neutered, vaccinated and he will be ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
✨ Meet Emma — Proof that joy can survive anything ✨ If you want to meet a dog whose soul defies everything she’s been through… meet Emma. Found as a stray in Mexico with only patches of fur left after severe mange, this little girl is living, wagging proof that happiness lies within, no matter the circumstances. At just 3.5 years old, Emma has already endured more than most dogs ever will. People walked past her. People looked away. Some still do — because her skin still has a few bald spots, and that’s all they see. But what they miss is everything that makes Emma extraordinary: 💛 The way she lights up a room with her fast, joyful spins when it’s mealtime 💛 How she leaps with pure happiness every time she sees you 💛 The gentle way she tucks herself against your side, asking for nothing but love 💛 Her resilience, her softness, her unbroken spirit Emma is still shy and crouches when someone approaches too quickly or when loud noises remind her of a past she should’ve never had. Only she knows what people did to her before she was rescued… but even after all of that, she chose to trust again. And now she deserves the best home in the whole wide world. One filled with patience, kindness, tenderness, and someone who understands that healing takes time — but loving her comes easy. Emma is safe. She is loved. And she is ready for her forever person. If you see her heart before her scars, you’ll never find a more loyal, grateful, or beautiful companion.
