Chihiro is one of those cats who quietly steals your heart. When he first came to us, he was a very scared little kitten who wanted nothing to do with people. Since then, hes made incredible progress. Hes learned that people can be safe, and on his terms, hell even accept a few gentle pets from someone he trusts. What he truly loves is simply being part of the family. He follows the daily routine from a comfortable distance, hangs out wherever everyone else is, and often curls up at your feet while you sleep. He wants to be near his people—just not necessarily in their lap. He's also a true cat. Chihiro absolutely thrives with feline companions, and he must be in a home with friendly resident cats. Whether he's snuggling beside them, playing chase, or simply sharing a sunny spot, having other cats around gives him confidence and happiness. He is fine with nice gentle dogs too. Playtime brings out his silly side, and his adorable little bobtail makes him even more irresistible. Chihiro is looking for a patient, understanding home that will love him exactly as he is. If you're hoping for a cuddly lap cat, he probably isn't the right match. But if you appreciate the quiet joy of earning a shy cats trust and want a wonderful companion for your resident cats, Chihiro could be perfect. Meet Simon! Simon, or “Mr. Si”, is approximately seven years old and after a rough start, he’s ready for his fur-ever home! Simon was living as a stray on JBER before being trapped, but has quickly grown fond of the domesticated life! As the sophisticated, older gentleman that he is, here are some things Simon would like you to know about him. He only has five teeth left, but that’s doesn’t stop him from being the biggest foodie Alaska has to offer. While it takes time for him to warm up to you, once he has, he is the sweetest soul. (He especially loves chin scratches.) Simon needs to know, and trust his people before he turns into the world’s best love bug. Although he will happily climb into your lap and make you some of his famous biscuits, he would politely ask you do not pick him up. Because Simon had been a stray for so long, he doesn’t quite know how to express so much love and gratitude, therefore this often results in plenty of love bites. Don’t worry, they never hurt! He just really loves you! Mr. Simon does well with young kids who understand going slow until he gets to know them. While he loves small, calm dogs, he is a little unsure of larger dogs. Though given enough time, we’re sure he’d settle in. Simon is excited about other cats, but hasn’t quite had the chance to interact with one to no fault of his own!
