Sushi came to us as a skittish stray kitty who had sought refuge from the cold winter near a crazy cat lady's doorstep. Lucky for her, the lady was up for the challenge. This solid hunk of burning love is ROCK STEADY! His name needs to be capitals because we aren't kidding about solid. Rock is quite a hefty boy. And he's blind. But it's hard to recognize it. Put a cat anywhere near his scent range and he can move as fast as a puma with the force of a bulldozer. He does not like other cats! Dogs, we're not sure. If a dog is in the path of a cat target, the dog is in trouble. Possible a mellow dog who knows that Rock is boss would be fine. With people, this boy is a loving maniac. He LOVES people. He loves to be held, to be pet, to be cuddled, to be with you. He was clearly the beloved boy of his person till they had to leave for medical treatment. Now he has to find a new human to give his all to. And when he turns his love on you, you will be the luckiest person in the world. Rock is about 12 years old, or could be a tad older. But don't expect some dried up old couch potato. Rock has still got what it takes to be significant. He still loves to go outside. His former owner took him out with them, or made sure to watch him while he was out. A safe yard with a good distinguishable perimeter would be perfect. Darwin--for all you crazy cat people! Darwin is not only sweet but also a thrill. He can play roles from Sweet Baby to Gangsta. He might hiss at you first as he used to be an untouchable feral. But one day he found out that humans are good, and getting pet is heavenly. After that day he drooled and melted every time when he got pet for about a week. These days Darwin is getting used to home life and pets, and he can control his sanity somehow. Once you can push “The Button” Darwin will be a nonstop purr maker who snuggles, makes biscuits, and lays down right next to you, like “Pet me more!”. He will let you touch him everywhere, even his belly and paws (not a big fan though), let you cuddle him up (again not a big fan, but doable), comes on your lap sometimes, does the all kinds of sweet things. If you respect his feeling he will be the sweetest most rewarding cat ever. But if you don’t, then sorry..... Darwin might not be simple, and might not be easy at first. Beautiful, bright young girl, Misty is full of life. Around a year old, she is an active, sometimes mischievous girl who loves to play. Misty is a dappled tortoiseshell. She is so spirited and so full of kittenhood turning to teenage-ness that she doesn't care if the cat and dog see her coming when she decides to race around and play tag. Misty would do great with another rambunctious cat who likes to be nutty with friends. And with people who enjoy her antics as much as she enjoys delights in doing them. Oscar had a rough start as a feral kitten. He was living in the dumpster behind the Windbreak Cafe with his mom and 10 other kittens and cats. He has matured into a handsome gentle guy. He lives to play and as he warms up to people, enjoys scratches and attention.
