Story
Buttercup is a little beauty looking for that special fur-ever home where she can be absolutely spoiled with love and affection. When she came into the SPCA as a stray Buttercup was pretty wild and had little socialization with humans. She has spent the last few months in a foster home learning what it is to be around people, and is continuing to build her confidence. She can still be easily startled, and anxious of loud noises or fast movements, and would do best in a quiet adult home without children. She is likely not suitable for an inexperienced cat guardian, and ideally needs someone who is prepared to give her all the gentle love and patience she needs to blossom into the loving companion she can be. Buttercup has come a long way and loves pets and scratches, even weaving around the feet of her favourite person, but she can play 'hard to get' and prefers to be the one seeking out the attention. She may never be a lap cat but she is learning how nice it is to cuddle in bed on lazy mornings. Buttercup gets along really well with other cats and is actually very playful, zooming around her foster home with her feline friend. She needs a home with another cat or two to help her be her happiest self. Buttercup needs a patient, understanding adopter who can provide a safe, quiet space where she can be her best self, a curious and playful young kitty. Story
Meadow is a playful, independent young cat who came to the SPCA as a stray found injured in a rural area. She underwent vet care for multiple injuries, including losing an ear from frostbite and having her tail amputated. When found Meadow was pretty wild and had little socialization with humans. She has spent the last few months in a foster home learning what it is to be in a proper home, but still will take some continued work for a guardian to gain her trust and build her confidence around people. She can still be very fearful and generally prefers to keep her distance. She is not suitable for a home with kids or an inexperienced cat guardian. Meadow needs someone prepared to help her continue her socialization journey, building a trusting and loving relationship with people, someone who understands she will likely never be a "lap cat". Meadow has learned how nice pets and scratches can be which is a great start. Meadow does get along really well with other cats and is actually very playful, zooming around her foster home with her feline friend. She would definitely do best in a home with another cat or two and should be kept as strictly indoor only due to her skittish nature. Meadow needs a patient, understanding adopter who can provide a safe, quiet space where she can feel secure and live life on her own terms. Story
Meet Lucy, a friendly, playful, loving cat who came to the SPCA as a stray. She was found playing with other cats, so she may be fine in a home with a feline friend, providing she gets a slow, proper introduction. We're not sure if she's been around dogs or children so, again, slow introductions would be very important. She has a sweet and playful personality, and she absolutely loves attention. She would do best in a loving home with people who are ready to play at the drop of a pin and are willing to give her all the love and chin scratches she demands (and she will). Lucy seems like she would be a great match for most any home and a wonderful companion. She is a little bit overweight so adopters should be prepared to help keep her happy and healthy with a proper diet and lots of exercise through play time. Lucy arrived at the SPCA with a large, shallow wound on the side of her face which thankfully is healing. She needs to be a bit more fully healed before she can be fully adopted but local adopters may have the option to take her home now as a Foster To Adopt. Ask SPCA staff for more information. This sweet girl has had a rough time and can't wait to find her new loving fur-ever family to spoil her. She has so much love to share in return. If you are interested in adopting the lovely Lucy please apply online at the link below. https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 5.77 Age: 4yrs 8mths 0wks
