Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're working for home or just playing it safe by practicing social distancing, now is a perfect time to bring a new furry family member into the fold. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Calypso is about 2 years old as of April 2026. She has spent a large portion of that time in confinement. She was trapped as an older kitten with the intent to be socialized for adoption. Due to a series of unfortunate incidents, the window to return her back to her outside home closed, so we decided to continue efforts to socialize. Recently she has been given free reign of her foster home, and she's getting so brave! She's gone from spending her days in the basement to spending almost all her time in the vicinity of her foster family. Her buddy Spokane, also available, gives her so much confidence. If she's laying with him, she will relax for pets. Otherwise she stays just out of reach, but that's ok! She's used to TV, seeing people walk by outside, and sharing the couch with humans. While we would love to see her flourish in her own home, we are now looking for any safe outcome. If you have a SAFE shop, building, or barn, we think she would adapt. Her foster mom is very ill and she has nowhere else to go. Please consider her! Apply for this beautiful girl now at safehousepets.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee structure is as follows:   $75 - Kittens/Young (Up to 1 year) $50 - Adult (1 Year +) $25 - Senior (7 Years +) $0 - FIV + There is an additional $25 fee for cats considered to be an "Exotic" (Siamese, Persian, etc...) If you are a senior (65 years or older) you can adopt any of our senior cats (7 years or older) for only $10! Please mention this special when applying. We also have a kitten special - adopt 2 available kittens (1 year & under) for $125 While we try to keep our animal listings up-to-date online, sometimes the age range may be labelled incorrectly. Please don't hesitate to contact us for the most up-to-date information on a particular cat.  Our cats are shown by appointment - we are a foster based rescue and so we don't have a location with set hours. If you are interested in adopting or would like to meet our cats, please fill out our adoption application online at www.safehousepets.org/info/adoption and a volunteer will contact you promptly.  October 1, 2026, 9:00 am

Story
This is Little Bo Peep. She was born in May 2026 by a stray neighborhood cat. I took it upon myself to trap, tame and socialize her and her 2 siblings. She is a beautiful, sweet, gentle calico "teenage" kitten, who likes to play, explore, talk and eat. She is not a lap-cat, but she likes to be petted and "talk" to you. She would prefer a quieter home with no small children. A senior or a single person might be ideal for this gentle girl? I got her spayed on 8/27/26 and she has been tested for ringworm, been dewormed and had 2 shots (FVRCP) and had flea preventative. I am asking $100 adoption fee. She needs to have a playmate, if you don't already have a cat 14 months or younger, she will need a friend. I have 2 of her siblings on here for adoption (Look for Huckleberry and Ginger)

Story
Zara was a stray found in 2016, she was brought home by a family member then dropped off with me without my consent. I’ve done my best to take care of her but it’s overwhelming and I can’t do it anymore. She’s currently living outside and needs to see a vet, I can’t afford it as I’m taking care of my son with special needs and my two year old granddaughter with no help. She has a big chunk of hair missing from her neck and scabs on her face. I am almost 72 years old and need to surrender these animals I can no longer care for. I do not want to get them euthanized, I just want to find them a good home. She lived with my best friend for 5 years and then he passed away and I had to take in all of his pets. She’s not exactly special needs, she is litter trained. But she does better when she’s the only cat in the house.
