Story
In celebration of America's 250th Birthday, all cats are two dollars and fifty cents thru 7/31.Joanne is a female Calico kitty who is about 2 years old. This busy girl likes to stay informed on everything happening around her—from monitoring the view outside the window to conducting thorough inspections of closets, cupboards, and every corner of her kingdom. Of course, she also takes her scheduled naps very seriously. While Joanne has important feline business to attend to, she's happy to make time for her people. A good meal, a comfortable place to relax, and a human to share her day with are all high on her priority list. Independent yet affectionate, Joanne is looking for a home where she can be the capable manager of daily operations while enjoying the companionship she deserves. If you're searching for a cat with confidence, curiosity, and just the right amount of charm, Joanne is ready to take charge of your heart. She is described as 'The Executive'. I have to say, I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need looking into. And then there are my naps--can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule. Shall we plan on breakfast and dinner? I hope you like kibbles.      It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only              $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are welcome and needed including financial help to sponsor this specific animal. If you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome!!!Via our website:Secure Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Mailing address:PAWS and More1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To Sponsor an animal:Emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comorCall 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 PMGet directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.com

Story
In celebration of America's 250th Birthday, all cats are two dollars and fifty cents thru 7/31.PinPin is a male Domestic Shorthair and Tabby mixed kitty who is about 2 years old. This kitty is being fostered at Oaknoll Retirement Residence located at 1 Oaknoll Court, Iowa City. He lives in the 'cat room', a studio apartment that is furnished with chairs and a sofa for the people who visit. This charming boy spends his days bringing comfort, joy, and plenty of snuggles to the residents.PinPin has a special way of making people smile, whether he’s curling up beside someone for quiet companionship or happily soaking up attention from his many admirers. His friendly, affectionate nature makes him a favorite everywhere he goes.I spend my days soaking up love from the residents, making new friends, and doing what I do best—bringing smiles and joy wherever I go.Being everyone's favorite is pretty fun, but what I'd really love is a team of my very own. I dream of having a forever family to greet each morning, curl up with at night, and share all my affection with. The folks at Oaknoll think I'm pretty special, and I have to admit, I enjoy all the attention! But even MVPs need a home field advantage, and I'm ready to trade my temporary digs for a happily-ever-after.If you're looking for a friendly companion who's already proven he can brighten people's days, I'm your guy. Come meet me and see why everyone at Oaknoll has fallen for me—I just might bring a little extra joy to your home.He is described as an 'MVP'. I'm a savvy cat who knows the score. I'm pretty unflappable, too. I don't mind entertaining myself, but a human companion at the other end of the couch and a nice scratch behind the ears always make my day. If you're looking for a resourceful addition to your team, think about signing this Most Valuable Pussycat. It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home. For more information visit: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/weekend-crate-training.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption. For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome via our website Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Or mail to:PAWS and More Animal Shelter 1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To sponsor an animal, emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 Get directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comTo foster an animal (any length of time), complete the questionnaire atpawsandmorewashington.org/foster

Story
In celebration of America's 250th Birthday, all cats are two dollars and fifty cents thru 7/31.Dynasty aka Penelope is a female Domestic Shorthair kitty who is about 5.5 years old.Penelope may look like she's judging your life choices from across the room, but don't let that grumpy face fool you.Life at the shelter can be stressful, and we suspect some of Penelope's famous "attitude" is simply her way of coping with all the changes. She's the kind of cat who prefers to take things at her own pace. Give her a little time, a little space, and a lot of patience, and you'll discover the loving cat hiding beneath that serious expression. If you appreciate cats with a little personality, a little sass, and a lot of potential, Penelope could be the perfect match. All she needs is someone willing to see past her grumpy exterior and give her the chance to shine. She is described as a 'Love Bug'. Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness." Could that someone be you?

Story
In celebration of America's 250th Birthday, all cats are two dollars and fifty cents thru 7/31.Mink aka Martha is a female Domestic Shorthair kitty who is about 10 years old. This gentle girl is a PAWS alum who recently found herself back at the shelter after the other cats in her home began bullying her over the last several months.Mink is incredibly sweet and affectionate, though she’s understandably been a little shy while adjusting to such a big change. After having her world turned upside down, she’s taking things one day at a time and hoping for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished again. This lovely senior girl deserves a soft place to land and a family who will help her enjoy her golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and love. If you’re looking for a quiet companion with a gentle heart, Mink may be the perfect match. She is described as a 'Love Bug'. Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness."
