Story
ChChiChi has been with me and my family from two months old. She is now five years old and at the time that I did not think my 3-Month-Old son would be autistic come to find out I have two autistic children that take up most of my time. Im looking to get her a batter because she lives out of my room. She refuses to come out of my room. Now that the boys are older, my house is loud and I think she would do better in a quiet home. She has been around cats and dogs but wants nothing to do with them. She's also missing her back leg due to her umbilical cord was wrapped around her leg and was removed when she was only a day old. She gets around fine. I would prefer a house that had more carpeting just to give her the stability from walking. She is very loving and likes to cuddle and make biscuits, she is a very easy going cat, just likes her privacy. But once I sit down she's all over me and wants affection. She really doesn't play with toys, just likes to watch the birds.

Story
Meet Luna — A Playful, Social Girl With a Big Heart and a Big Personality Luna is an active, affectionate, and wonderfully expressive cat who brings energy and charm into every room she enters. She’s social with strangers, curious about new people, and loves being part of the daily rhythm of a home. When she trusts you, she becomes a deeply loving companion — greeting you at the door with excited meows, following you from room to room, and curling up on your lap for cozy moments. Personality & Temperament Luna is: Very social with new people Affectionate once she trusts you Playful, energetic, and full of life A lap cat with her chosen person Vocal and expressive — she loves to “talk” to you Litter trained, though she may need help adjusting to a new home She does not enjoy being picked up or carried and will communicate her boundaries clearly. She’s a cat who appreciates respect, predictability, and a person who understands feline body language. Play Style & Activity Level Luna is a highenergy, playful cat who thrives with daily engagement. She loves: Chew toys Wand toys she can chase and “hunt” Interactive play sessions Attention and affection from her person She’s the type of cat who enjoys being involved — she’ll follow you around, supervise your tasks, and stay close by throughout the day. Behavior Notes & Progress Luna used to become overstimulated easily during petting and would give small warning bites to ask for space. Over the past 2–3 months, she has made significant progress, with these moments decreasing to just a few times a week. Her bites have always been minor and never required medical care. She needs: A patient adopter who understands cat boundaries Predictable routines Time to build trust Respect for her signals during petting Once she feels safe, she becomes incredibly affectionate — lounging beside you, sitting on your lap, and seeking out gentle pets. Other Animals Dogs: Luna previously lived with a dog and can adjust well with slow introductions. Cats: Her behavior with other cats is unknown, so any introductions should be gradual and structured. Children Not suitable for children under 6 (she's scared of children)                                Okay with teenagers who understand cat behavior and boundaries Food & Preferences Luna is delightfully particular: Only loves chicken wet food — one can twice a day                   Ideal Home Luna will thrive in a home with: A predictable schedule Consistent days off or time at home An adopter who enjoys interactive play Someone patient, catsavvy, and respectful of boundaries Older kids, teens, or adults only She is okay with a dog, may or may not enjoy another cat, and will flourish with someone who appreciates her mix of independence, affection, and playful spirit. Why You’ll Love Luna Luna is a cat who bonds deeply. She’s expressive, funny, affectionate, and full of personality. She greets you at the door, shadows you throughout the day, and becomes a loyal companion once she feels safe. She needs someone who understands her, respects her boundaries, and enjoys an active, engaging cat — and in return, she offers love, companionship, and endless charm.   The suggested adoption donation for Luna is $85, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Miss Kitty is s 5 year old female calico cat that loves to be cuddled, pet, and brushed. A good friend of mine, and neighbor, had been feeding her for over a year but she recently passed away. I took Miss Kitty into my home to find her a forever home. I am unable to keep her because my husband is allergic to cats. She would be perfect for someone who just wants a very loving companion. She has been spayed and all her vaccines and shots are up-to-date as of 8/26.

Story
Chips & Queso are a bonded pair, both approximately 3 years old (born August 2023).  They're both dog and cat friendly.  They also get along with older kids (age 6+), but the younger kids are scary for them.  They might be a little shy around new people at first, but will warm up. They currently live with younger kids and seem scared.  Chips & Queso needs a quiet home where they'll get lots of love and attention.  Chips likes to be left alone sometimes, but will let you know when she wants attention.  Queso will soak up all the attention she can get! This is Queso.  They would love for you to consider adopting them.  If you're looking for two cats that are litter box trained and past the kitten stage, maybe this is the pair for you!!!  Who doesn't need a little Chips & Queso in their life?!   The suggested adoption donation for both Chips & Queso is $145, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Joanne is a female Calico kitty who is about 2 years old.She was found under a porch with an injury to her armpit, which has healed nicely. This busy girl likes to stay informed on everything happening around her—from monitoring the view outside the window to conducting thorough inspections of closets, cupboards, and every corner of her kingdom. Of course, she also takes her scheduled naps very seriously. While Joanne has important feline business to attend to, she's happy to make time for her people. A good meal, a comfortable place to relax, and a human to share her day with are all high on her priority list. Independent yet affectionate, Joanne is looking for a home where she can be the capable manager of daily operations while enjoying the companionship she deserves. If you're searching for a cat with confidence, curiosity, and just the right amount of charm, Joanne is ready to take charge of your heart. She is described as 'The Executive'. I have to say, I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need looking into. And then there are my naps--can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule. Shall we plan on breakfast and dinner? I hope you like kibbles.      It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only              $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are welcome and needed including financial help to sponsor this specific animal. If you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome!!!Via our website:Secure Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Mailing address:PAWS and More1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To Sponsor an animal:Emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comorCall 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 PMGet directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.com
