Story
Mink aka Martha is a female Domestic Shorthair kitty who is about 10 years old. This gentle girl is a PAWS alum who recently found herself back at the shelter after the other cats in her home began bullying her over the last several months.Mink is incredibly sweet and affectionate, though she’s understandably been a little shy while adjusting to such a big change. After having her world turned upside down, she’s taking things one day at a time and hoping for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and cherished again. This lovely senior girl deserves a soft place to land and a family who will help her enjoy her golden years surrounded by comfort, kindness, and love. If you’re looking for a quiet companion with a gentle heart, Mink may be the perfect match. She is described as a 'Love Bug'. Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness." Could that someone be you? It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction.Adoption fees:Cats - $105 for one or only $150 for two!Dogs - $155For more information on this animal contact washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713All our animals have been spayed/neutered (or will be arranged if currently too young).Dogs will be tested for heart worms, vaccinated against distemper/parvo and rabies. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home. For more information visit: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/weekend-crate-training.Cats will be vaccinated against feline distemper and feline parvo, and have been wormed. All animals will be bathed and treated for fleas/ear mites. Microchipping will take place at the time of adoption. For an application to adopt, go to:https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adoptIf you cannot currently adopt, donations are ALWAYS welcome via our website Donate Now button at pawsandmorewashington.org Or mail to:PAWS and More Animal Shelter 1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353To sponsor an animal, emailwashingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comor call 319-653-6713.Hours:Monday closedTuesday thru Sunday noon to 4 Get directions at:washingtonpawsandmore1978@gmail.comTo foster an animal (any length of time), complete the questionnaire atpawsandmorewashington.org/foster

Story
George is a male Domestic Shorthair and Tabby mixed kitten.I love attention, affection, and spending time with people. I'm at that fun kitten age where every day is an adventure. There are toys to chase, places to explore, and laps to curl up in. My favorite thing, though, would be having a home of my own where I can grow up surrounded by love.He is described as a 'Love Bug'. Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness." Story
Dynasty aka Penelope is a female Domestic Shorthair kitty who is about 5.5 years old.Penelope may look like she's judging your life choices from across the room, but don't let that grumpy face fool you. Life at the shelter can be stressful, and we suspect some of Penelope's famous "attitude" is simply her way of coping with all the changes. She's the kind of cat who prefers to take things at her own pace. Give her a little time, a little space, and a lot of patience, and you'll discover the loving cat hiding beneath that serious expression.Penelope isn't likely to be the cat who leaps into your lap on day one. Instead, she'll quietly watch from nearby, slowly building trust until one day you realize she's become your loyal companion. Those relationships are often the most rewarding. If you appreciate cats with a little personality, a little sass, and a lot of potential, Penelope could be the perfect match. All she needs is someone willing to see past her grumpy exterior and give her the chance to shine. She is is described as a 'Secret Admirer'. When it comes to relationships, I'm very level-headed. I don't leap in paws first, if you know what I mean. But give me a little time, and then I'll shower you with purrs, head-butts, and plenty of lap time. In the meantime, you may not see a lot of me, but I'll be thinking a lot of you!
