Story
I have made the heart-breaking decision to re-home my much loved cat, Pickles. I adopted him as a kitten and he has provided me with lots of happiness and companionship. He is young (born 10/24), healthy, playful and affectionate. But at my age (78), an energetic cat has become an issue of safety. I have mobility issues and at risk of falls. Pickles’ playful high energy has him running underfoot and I have fallen several times. Full disclosure: occasionally, normal playtime leads to aggressive attacks. on my arm. On my vet’s advice, I made the difficult decision to have his front paws de-clawed. He is also a fast, crafty cat who sometimes gets out. This leads to a 78-year-old with mobility issues pursuing a young, speedy cat. I am unable to provide effective behavioral correction. I have not seen him interact with other pets, but seems good with kids. He is a lovely cat and I am so sad to re-home, but it will be easier knowing he's in a new family with love, energy and patience.

Story
Dolly's Legacy was contacted by a shelter in Central Nebraska that they had taken in a cat whose microchip registered back to our rescue. Pickles was surrendered to the shelter along with his best gal pal, Haze. The shelter allowed us to bring Pickles who had been adopted in 2015 back into our rescue along with his companion. We are now searching for a committed forever home for Haze & Pickles together. They are bonded and do everything together. They sleep, eat, play, cuddle, and get into mischief as a dynamic duo. Pickles is declawed. They have excellent litterbox manners and mostly love to nap the day away by a window, basking in the sun. Pickles is more social with people & outgoing, while Haze is the shy girl who lets him take the lead. Pickles is cat selective, he likes to think he has to protect his girl. They must be adopted as a pair. Haze is a Silver-Swirled Tabby/Domestic Shorthair who was born approximately 5-19-19 and weighs 8 lbs. Pickles is a Brown Tabby/Domestic Shorthair who was born approximately 10-30-15 and weighs 14 lbs. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated. Pickles is front declawed. Adoption fee is $125 as a pair to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.  ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website. Our Adoption Team will respond via email from DollysLegacyAdoptions@gmail.com once you have completed an application. If a pet is still listed, it is not yet adopted as we update daily. All information regarding adoption policies are on our website***
