Calico kittens & cats in Carson City, Nevada

Kitty was saved by one of our wonderful volunteers when someone brought her into a vet to have her euthanized as they were tired of her. Our volunteer took her home and she is hoping to start Life #2. Kitty has unfortunately been declawed and probably not treated well as she is pretty shy until she trusts her person, then she warms up. She would do best in a quiet home. Lola came to use from Texas where her owner wanted to euthanize her due to a positive FIV test. FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is a retrovirus that many cats carry, and it is absolutely not a death sentence. After initial infection, many cats remain asymptomatic for the remainder of their lives. FIV is not transmissible to humans, and cats with a positive FIV result are often housed with other cats who do not have the virus, as transmission occurs only through deep bites (NOT grooming, sharing bowls or water, shared litterboxes, etc.). Chia is the sweet sister to Poppy. Both of these little seeds are so sweet! They can often be found playing with the same toy, chasing each other, or curled up in a favorite bed. Chia is a bit more vocal than Poppy and will often announce for both when it's time for some wet food or even a treat. We're asking for these two to be adopted into the same home. Our Andy is also polydactyl! He has thumbs on his front paws He uses them to get the upper paw on the other foster kittens. He is quite the character and we love him to pieces! Andy SP is extra special. Found by a young child on the side of the road at just 10 days old. Andy needs to go to a home that has a young cat or kitten for him to pal with. Poppy is the best little lap girl. She's playful, fun and so gentle. But when playtime is over, she's the first one to find your lap.
