Calico kittens & cats in Sparks, Nevada

Kitty was saved by one of our wonderful volunteers when someone brought her into a vet to have her euthanized as they were tired of her. Our volunteer took her home and she is hoping to start Life #2. Kitty has unfortunately been declawed and probably not treated well as she is pretty shy until she trusts her person, then she warms up. She would do best in a quiet home. Lola came to use from Texas where her owner wanted to euthanize her due to a positive FIV test. FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) is a retrovirus that many cats carry, and it is absolutely not a death sentence. After initial infection, many cats remain asymptomatic for the remainder of their lives. FIV is not transmissible to humans, and cats with a positive FIV result are often housed with other cats who do not have the virus, as transmission occurs only through deep bites (NOT grooming, sharing bowls or water, shared litterboxes, etc.). Meet Astrid 💛 a playful, spirited girl looking for the right home We adopted Astrid as a kitten, and shes now 4 years old. She has a big personality and a curious, playful nature that keeps life fun. While shes not a huge snuggler, what she lacks in cuddles she more than makes up for in playfulness, confidence, and charm. She loves to engage with her people and enjoys having space to explore and play. Astrid does great with dogs and has been wonderful around kids & she’s tolerant, friendly, and adaptable. Over time, we’ve had increasing tension between Astrid and our older female cat. Despite our efforts, they continue to fight, and it’s become clear that Astrid would truly thrive as the only cat in the home, or possibly with a male cat, rather than another female. This decision comes from wanting the very best quality of life for her. Astrid deserves a home where she can feel relaxed, secure, and fully herself. She has so much love and personality to offer.
