Story
Get ready to meet Joni, a petite 8-week-old female kitten with short white fur and gorgeous calico markings on her head and tail. When they were only two weeks old, Joni and her sibling were rescued with their mama cat and fostered by a Cat Coalition Volunteer/ Vet Tech. The kittens have been well socialized by their foster family which includes a dog and several older cats! Mama cat has been returned to her owner, Joni’s sibling is spoken for; now it’s Joni’s turn! Joni is an active little girl with an adorable squeaky meow. Tipping the scales at only 1 lb 10 oz, she’s small but mighty! She enjoys playing, exploring every nook and cranny, and climbing cat towers. Joni is very affectionate; at nap time, she prefers to settle on top of her humans…in a lap, on a chest, around shoulders. If two people are watching TV together, Joni will squeeze between both sets of legs! Joni has received her age-appropriate vaccines, has been dewormed, and given flea-prevention medication. Of course, she is litter box trained! She is scheduled to be spayed and rabies vaccinated in late June.

Story
MAY is a special cat that needs a special adopter. Found in the Ingles’ parking lot and brought to the SCHS when she was only about two weeks old, she was very sick. Her left eye remains cloudy and she sometimes has a bout of URI that's cleared with antibiotics. We wish we knew what May had experienced before coming to us. She is an energetic girl that plays rough (and when you least expect it); she cannot go to a home with small children for this reason. She wants affection only when she initiates it. She really could use other cats in the home, but they have to be able to tolerate her outbursts. She is currently in foster care and her very-experienced foster mom can share even more information about her. The standard adoption fee is $100 cash or $105 debit/credit. This includes feline testing, vaccines, spaying/neutering, micro-chipping and de-worming. Please submit an adoption application through stanlycountyhumanesociety.org for consideration. Like us on facebook at Stanly County Humane Society Cats. Thanks for considering adopting a rescue pet! Adoption fees for pets with Stanly County Humane Society are to cover the following: *Spay/Neuter *Heartworm/Feline Testing *All standard vaccinations *Rabies Vaccination *Microchip  May 6, 2024, 2:21 pm
