You will not find a sweeter, more affectionate cat than Mama Calliope. She is a dream cat for someone looking for a companion cat or lap cat.
Our veterinarian estimates this beautiful girl to be only 10-12 months old, So she is really still just a baby herself.
Calliope is quite petite at just 6.5 pounds and does need to gain a pound or so after doing such an amazing job raising and nursing her SEVEN kittens. No surprise at all she is so thin, after raising all those kittens. Thankfully she loves the food we serve lol.
Calliope is everything you could hope for in a furry family member, friendly, social, affectionate, outgoing, gentle and incredibly loving. She adores attention, enjoys being close to her people and is the kind of cat who will happily soak up all the love you have to give.
Calliope recently had a complete wellness exam and got a perfect report. She received her first FVRCP vaccine and rabies vaccine. She is FIV, FeLV and Heartworm negative and was screened for parasites as well, all clear. In addition, we continue to deworm our fosters every two weeks while in our care just to be safe.
In just a few weeks she will be spayed and receive her vaccine booster and then she will be ready for her very own forever home. (Mid September).
This sweet young mama has spent the last 7 weeks taking wonderful care of her babies. Now it is finally going to be her turn to be the baby, to have a family of her own to spoil her, cuddle her and take care of her for the rest of her life.
Mama Calliope truly is a gem, and we cannot wait to see her begin the happily ever after she deserves.
We are told she did live with cats (no issues) in her past home and we plan to see how she does with our dogs when the opportunity presents itself.
Calliopes adoption fee is $50.

Once your application is approved, we welcome you to come out for a meet and greet in our foster home in Blanch, NC. We are near Yanceyville., NC and 20 minutes from Danville, VA. An easy one hour drive from Durham or Greensboro.
