Story
Amaretto is a cute 6-month old female Calico kitty who was surrendered by her owner on April 12, 2023 along with several other cats who had shared her previous home. This young lady has a dark brown/orange/white short smooth coat in a calico pattern, a long tail, and a pretty orange/black face with large golden eyes, a pink nose, a white muzzle, and long white whiskers. Amaretto was understandably a frightened little girl after she found herself in a small cage in an unfamiliar place, and she is still working on her social skills and self-confidence. Our compassionate feline kennel techs are giving her extra TLC and doing their best to make her feel safe and loved. Amaretto was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on April 19, 2023. She weighed 6 lbs that day. Amaretto was spayed on May 15, 2023, She was also given rabies vaccine and was combo tested. Amaretto is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. She weighed 5.7 lbs on May 15, 2023.

Story
Amaretto is a cute 6-month old female Calico kitty who was surrendered to HSOV on April 12, 2023 along with several of her best friends who had shared her home. This young lady has a dark brown/orange/white short smooth coat in a calico pattern, a long tail, and a pretty orange/black face with large golden eyes, a pink nose, a white muzzle, and long white whiskers. Amaretto was a frightened little girl when she first arrived at HSOV and was not happy by herself in a small cage ☹ Our amazing HSOV feline kennel techs gave Amaretto extra TLC and helped her work on her social skills and self-confidence. Those compassionate kennel techs made sure that Amaretto was safe and loved unconditionally by them. Amaretto's delightful personality emerged when she was placed in our HSOV Open Cat Room. Amaretto has become a wanna-be social butterfly these days, and she also does well with the other kitty residents in that room. Amaretto is ready to find a new home with a compassionate family or individual who will have the patience to give her the time she needs in order to acclimate to a new environment on her own schedule.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! My name is Lydia. My babies and I were found outside the Sistersville City Building by two nice ladies. They called the Olive Branch for help. I needed a safe place to take care of my babies. Both of my babies have long since been adopted, but here I am...waiting. I don't understand why. I'm a very nice kitty. I'm a litte bit shy at first, but I'm looking for ear scratches and attention in no time. I lget along well with the other cats, and I don't seem to mind dogs, as long as they aren't too nosey.  I'll make a great companion for someone who is looking for a bright eyed girl like me! I have been spayed, combo tested and vaccinated. If you would like to meet me, call 304-652-1010 to set up a time.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 21, 2023, 1:18 pm

Story
Tinker (aka Tinkie) is a handsome male kitty who was born on March 25, 2015 just a few days after his beautiful mother (Dolly Madison) went to a wonderful foster home and gave birth to five beautiful kittens. Tinker was the first-born kitten in his litter of five. He was adopted and returned to our shelter sometime in 2016 or early 2017. Tinker has a black short smooth coat with a few white hairs on his chest, a long tail, and adorable face. He has a sweet, lovable disposition. This big guy loved to romp/play silly kitten games with his siblings when he was a kitten, and he is still very playful today. Tinker was neutered on June 26, 2015 and was also given rabies vaccine on that date. Tinker was placed in our 'Senior Kitty Room' when he came back to the shelter and though he doesn't qualify for a senior discount card, he has fit in nicely with the lovely senior ladies in that room. Tinker loves to perch atop file cabinets and other lofty places, and he is a wanna-be shoulder kitty :) Tinkie has gained a few pounds since these photos were taken and has enjoyed many gourmet meals (and treats), so he currently weighs in the range of 12-15 lbs. And his treats are being limited to lower-calorie ones. Tinkie has been the self-appointed "Assistant to the HSOV Adoptions Clerk" for the past several years (which he thoroughly enjoyed), but we feel that he would be much happier spending his retirement years in a permanent home where he will be loved 24 hours a day instead of just 8-hours a day during his normal 'work shift'. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation. Tinker has always been a good sport (and willing participant) in many of our holiday costume party pictures .. and we love taking candid shots of him 'sleeping on the job' and writing cute stories about his antics. Because of his chronic URI issues, Tinkie is now confined to a large cat tower in our lobby and no longer had 'free-roaming' privileges in the lobby/office areas. He is becoming somewhat depressed and is yearning for an indoor retirement home where he could pussyfoot around (and knock items off tables/countertops) to his heart's content. UPDATE: Tinkie went home with a compassionate foster mother on February 2, 2023 who will give him the medical care that he requires .. And (perhaps best of all), Tinkie will enjoy being in a real home environment instead of being in a large cat tower in our shelter. We know that he will LOVE his newly-found freedom!

Story
HSOV Kitty Tinker (aka Tinkie) has a long history with HSOV since he was born in foster care a few days after his mother (Dolly Madison) gave birth to five beautiful kittens. Tinker was the first-born kitten so we imagine that mom always loved him best. Tinker was neutered and adopted when he was still a young guy but was returned in 2016-2017 when he lost his home. So he quickly became a favorite and was given status as a ‘Shelter Mascot Kitty’. Tinkie is a bit of a character with some quirky traits (which only adds to his charm). He has been the ‘Self-Appointed Assistant to the HSOV Adoptions Clerk’ for several years. Tinker sleeps on the job a lot and (when awake) walks across the computer keyboard and enters ‘misinformation’, and clears items from Sharon Morris’ desk with deliberate swipes of his huge paws. Though we dearly love Tinkie, we feel that he would be much happier spending his retirement years in a permanent home where he will be loved 24 hours a day instead of just 8-hours a day during his normal ‘work shift’. Tinker has been neutered, is up-to-date on vaccinations, and has been combo tested. He has gained a few pounds since some of these photos were taken and currently weighs in the range of 12-15 pounds. Story
Kiyoshi is a beautiful 2-year old female Tuxedo kitty who was brought to the HSOV on March 16, 2022 after she was found on Washington Street in Marietta Ohio. We are thankful that Kiyoshi is safely in our shelter since (sigh) she will likely be giving birth to kittens in the very near future. Kiyoshi has a sleek black short smooth coat with a large patch of white on her chest in a tuxedo pattern, white socks on her paws, a long tail, and a pretty face with large dark golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and extra-long white whiskers. Kiyoshi was given wormer and flea treatment on March 16, 2022 but vaccines were withheld because of her pregnancy. Kiyoshi was combo tested that day and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. She weighs 10 lbs. This little mother-to-be has a bit of an attitude (possibly due to her pregnancy or elevated hormone level). She is resting comfortably amongst nice soft blanket and has several midwives 'on call' (our compassionate HSOV kennel techs and staff). UPDATE: Kiyoshi gave birth to four kittens on March 31, 2022. Mother and babies were doing well, and they went home with a fabulous foster mother on April 7, 2022. Sadly, one of Kiyoshi's kitten passed away in foster care on April 16, 2022. and Kiyoshi and her three kittens came back to the shelter that day since they needed a little extra care. A second kitten passed away on April 23rd. Kiyoshi was given vaccinations on April 24, 2022 and was given booster vaccines on May 16, 2022. Kiyoshi and her two remaining kittens (Ozai and Zuko) continued to thrive and are still doing well. Kiyoshi became an 'empty-nester' when she was separated from her kittens in mid-May 2022 since they were fully weaned. Kiyoshi was spayed on May 24, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7 lbs that day. Kiyoshi became an 'empty-nester' when she was separated from her kittens in mid-May 2022 since they were fully weaned. Kiyoshi was spayed on May 24, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7 lbs that day. Kiyoshi is ready to find the purrfect home either through adoption or rescue. Her kittens (Ozai and Zuko) are very bonded with each other. They will be neutered in the near future and will also be looking for a home of their very own. (NOTE: Ozai & Zuko were neutered and adopted together on June 29, 2022) Kiyoshi and her best friend Matilda (another empty-nester whom she met while they were residents in our HSOV Free-Roaming/Open Cat Room) were chosen on January 8, 2023 to be showcased at the WeLovPets Store (Lafayette Plaza, Marietta Ohio) where they are available for adoption or rescue through the HSOV. UPDATE: Kiyoshi & Matilda returned to HSOV on May 18, 2023 and are now enjoying the freedom of our HSOV Free-Roaming/Open Cat Room .. We'd love to see these girls adopted together. They are also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
