Story
Stella is a beautiful female Calico kitten who was surrendered by her owner on July 24, 2025 along with her two sisters (Meeko and RJ) and her brother (Hammy). The kittens were 4-months old at that time. Stella has a black/orange/white short smooth coat in a calico pattern, a long tail, and a classic black/orange Calico face with golden eyes, a wide orange stripe on her muzzle/forehead, and long white whiskers. Stella was spayed on September 23, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 5 lbs that day. Stella and her siblings dearly love each other, but they are still working on their social skills with regard to their people friends. They have made progress in our shelter since their arrival, but they are not yet ready to be held in your arms or snuggle up on your lap. We believe that they would do much better in a home environment with a family or individual who has the experience/patience to let them acclimate to their new home (realizing they may choose to hide for awhile until you gain their trust). The siblings have been separated into pairs so that they will have a best friend for comfort/security: [Stella & Meeko] and [Hammy & RJ] Stella and her sister Meeko (a beautiful Chocolate Point Siamese kitten) are sharing a cage and are quite compatible. They are being listed as a bonded pair and will be required to be adopted together.

Story
Joyce is a stunning 1-1/2 year old female Calico kitty who was brought to the HSOV on December 31, 2025 along with her five companions/housemates (Dustin, Erica, Hopper, Max, and Robin). Unfortunately the individual(s) who left them in our care did not provide any information about them .. This little lady has an orange/white/brown short smooth coat in a calico pattern, a long ringed tail, and a beautifully-marked calico face with golden/bronze eyes, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Joyce was given vaccinations, Pyrantel wormer and flea treatment on December 31, 2025/ She weighed 7 lbs that day. Joyce was given booster vaccines on January 14, 2026. Joyce is sharing a large cage with Max (a female buff tabby/white kitty) who had been brought in with the group of six. Joyce and Max are rather shy, so they have been kept together so that they can provide comfort/security for each other. Most of these photos of Joyce were taken on January 2nd 2026 soon after her arrival .. And a few were taken on January 23-24, 2026 after she and her best friend Max were moved to another area of our shelter which was warmer and a bit more quiet.. Joyce will be spayed in the near future (tentatively on February 9, 2026) and will be ready to find a loving home with a special someone who will have the patience to let her acclimate to her new surroundings on her own time. Naturally we'd love to see Joyce and her bestie Max adopted together, so they are being listed as a bonded pair. Joyce was spayed on February 9, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 5.2 lbs that day.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! My name is Lydia. My babies and I were found outside the Sistersville City Building by two nice ladies. They called the Olive Branch for help. I needed a safe place to take care of my babies. Both of my babies have long since been adopted, but here I am...waiting. I don't understand why. I'm a very nice kitty. I'm a litte bit shy at first, but I'm looking for ear scratches and attention in no time. I get along well with the other cats, and I don't seem to mind dogs, as long as they aren't too nosey.  I'll make a great companion for someone who is looking for a bright eyed girl like me! I have been spayed, combo tested and vaccinated. If you would like to meet me, call 304-652-1010 to set up a time.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 11, 2025, 3:01 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Mary Francis! This beautiful stray was found and brought to the shelter by a kind-hearted citizen. True to her name, Miss Mary is a little contrary at the moment! She’s still adjusting (loudly!) to life off the streets and isn’t quite sure what to make of her new situation. You can hear her coming from a mile away with her unique meow.  She is very talkative and will let you know when she isn't getting enough attention.  Her ears and coloring make her stand out amongst the rest. Story
Hammy and RJ are an adorable pair of kittens who were surrendered by their owner on July 24, 2025 along with their two sisters (Meeko and Stella). The kittens were 4-weeks old at that time. Hammy is a handsome male Tuxedo kitten. He has a black-and-white short smooth coat in a tuxedo pattern, white paws, a long tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a black velvet nose, a small patch of white on the right-hand side of his muzzle, and long white whiskers. Hammy has a beautiful white/silver undercoat. RJ is a cute female Chocolate Point Siamese kitten. She has a cream/ivory short smooth coat, a long chocolate brown tail, and an adorable face with blue eyes, a large brown mask, a pink nose, a white muzzle, and long white whiskers. These siblings dearly love each other, but they are still working on their social skills with regard to their people friends. Hammy and RJ were neutered/spayed on September 23, 2025 and were also given rabies vaccine. Hammy weighed 6.7 lbs that day while RJ weighed 5.2 lbs. Hammy and his sister RJ are sharing a cage and are quite compatible. RJ plays the role of the proverbial 'little sister' who depends upon her big brother. They are being listed as a bonded pair and will be required to be adopted together.

Story
Mr. Hyde & Kitty Babe are a sweet pair of 8-year old best friends who were surrendered by their owner on December 26, 2025 through no fault of their own. Mr. Hyde (pictured on the left) has a brown short smooth coat in a spotted tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and a handsome chubby face with pale golden eyes, a splash of white on his muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Mr. Hyde weighs 10.7 lbs. Kitty Babe (pictured on the right) has a dark brown short smooth coat in a marbled tabby pattern, a long tail, and a beautiful face with green/gold eyes, a cute white muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Kitty Babe weighs 9.2 lbs. Both of these magnificent cats are very shy but also very sweet. Mr Hyde is the more shy of the pair and responds to a gentle touch. Kitty Babe has a very affectionate personality and loves to snuggle under blankets. Their owner reported that they were good with other animals and also with children. Mr. Hyde and Kitty Babe have been neutered/spayed. They have also been front-paw declawed so they would be required to be exclusive indoor-only kitties. Mr. Hyde and Kitty Babe are being listed as a bonded pair and are ready to find a loving home together. Please complete/submit an HSOV adoption application if you would like to be Mr. Hyde and Kitty Babe's hero by giving them a fabulous home.

Story
Taylor (aka Lily) is a beautiful 3-1/2 year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on February 5, 2026 because she was moving to an assisted-living residence and was unable to take Taylor to the new location. Taylor has a dark brown tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable chubby face with golden eyes, a brown velvet nose, and extra-long white whiskers. This little sweetheart has a friendly, outgoing personality. Taylor is good with other cats and also with children. There weren't any dogs in the home, so we don't know how Taylor feels about canine friends. Taylor's previous owner indicated that she has been known to be a 'door dasher'. Taylor may look familiar to some of our HSOV Volunteers/Facebook followers since she was adopted from our shelter in August 2025. She has enjoyed the freedom of her very own home for the past six months and is sad to be back in a small cage, so we hope that Taylor will quickly find another great home. Taylor has already been spayed and is up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies vaccine. She weighs approximately 9 lbs.
